Emma Dueck

Emma is an undergraduate student in the fourth year of her B.A. Honours in Psychology. Emma is interested in many topics related to attention and mental imagery, focusing on how these cognitive processes contribute to stress, anxiety, and other aspects of mental health. She is particularly curious about the ways these processes differ between individuals and how these differences shape everyday experiences and overall well-being. Emma plans to pursue graduate school for Clinical Psychology.

Emma Fernando

Emma Fernando completed her B.A. Honours project in 2023 on ADHD, subjective feelings of inattention, and mind wandering. Emma was awarded the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Institute of Manitoba's Clinical Research Award in 2022.

Enny Odeleye

Enny Odeleye completed her B.A. Honours project in 2023 on the effects of negative mood on inattention and mind wandering.

Liam Yeo

Liam graduated with his BSc (Hons.) in psychology from the University of Alberta in 2021 and MA from the University of Manitoba in 2024. Liam is currently pursuing his PhD. Liam's research interests include how mind wandering impacts cognitive processes (learning, memory, perception, etc.) and the implications that arise from them. He is also interested in the underlying processes of mind wandering and other failures of attention. He plans to investigate these interests using various behavioral and computational methods.

Maddy Rempel

Maddy Rempel is currently working towards completing her B.A. Honours in Psychology. Her research interests include inner speech experiences in ADHD, and more generally attentional control processes, mind wandering, and the cognition of ADHD. Maddy plans to pursue her M.A. in School Psychology after completing her bachelor's degree, with the goal of working as a school psychologist. Outside of research, Maddy can be found at any number of coffee shops across the city either studying or reading, or at a bookstore, growing her personal library.

Natalia Nguyen

Natalia Nguyen completed her B.A. Honours project in 2023 on executive functioning and acute physical exercise. Natalia was accepted into the Master's program at the University of Manitoba under the supervision of Dr. Dan Bailis.

Nathan Mathews

Nathan Mathews completed an independent research project in 2022 on the metacognition of mind wandering and subjective feelings of inattention. Nathan was accepted into the PhD Psychology program at McGill University under the superivsion of Dr. Ross Otto.

Rachel Hay

Rachel Hay completed her B.A. Honours project in 2024 on metacognitive strategies for reducing mind wandering and how beliefs about control influence the effectiveness of those strategies.

Reba Krahn

Reba is pursuing her MA in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Reba is examining the relationship between sleep quality, executive functioning, and inattention.

Stephanie Souliere

Stephanie Souliere completed her M.A. in 2024 on the relationship between cognitive control and emotion regulation strategies. Stephanie was accepted into the Ph.D. program at Western University.

Umer Bin Faiz

Umer Bin Faiz joined the lab in 2021, working on the metacognition of mind wandering before completing his B.A. Honours project in 2023 on age-differences in mind wandering.
