The creators of The Sand Box are members of Gideon Productions, a small theater company that has been producing new plays in NYC since 2000. For the past few years, we had been building our sets in a live/work space rented by Sandy Yaklin, our set designer, and Mac Rogers, our resident playwright. They needed to move, and given the high price of real estate in NYC, that meant looking at "creative" options... Let us design and build your theater or film set for you. We specialize in set design and art direction... The Sand Box is a unique rehearsal space shop in Long Island City, NYC rented to theater, film photography artists. We also provide scenic design services.
