IAN ANDERSON - President

Ian Anderson was born and raised here in Hilton Head Island. He attended high school here locally before deciding to further his athletic and academic career at the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the Wildcat Football Program. After returning to the lowcountry, he then landed in construction as a regional representative for one of the largest exterior contracting companies in the Southeast. As he continued to gain knowledge and experience, he transitioned into project management role for a custom residential builder. With his success he was named a Director of Construction and shortly after deemed Vice President. From there Ian set off to create what is now Blackwater Construction Group.

Jack Davis

Jack Davis is a proud Hilton Head Island native. After graduating from Hilton Head Christian Academy Jack attended the University of Alabama where he studied Communications with a focus on Advertising Strategy. After college Jack launched a full-service multi-media company on Hilton Head where for 3 years he used his industry expertise to build local brand identities, create meaningful relationships with his community and service the Lowcountry's marketing sales and advertising needs. From there, Jack became a successful program director for a nationally recognized staffing firm where he learned the ins and outs of project management and business development, leading teams of contractors in the southeast for nearly 6 years. He looks to bring his relative business development experience and local knowledge to better build the brand that is Blackwater, while maintaining the core values that make this company great. JAMES "JJ" HEGAN

  • Director of Construction
Grew up in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area. A college swimmer at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and Marquette University, he received a degree in Political Science. In 2001, he moved to Bluffton and began his career in residential construction. Initially partnering in a remodeling business on Hilton head and then starting his own company in 2008. He eventually took a project management position with Cameron and Cameron in 2015 which eventually became Element construction, both Ultra custom Residential builders. In 2020, Hegan took a position with Marsh Contracting building homes almost exclusively, on the Palmetto Bluff property. JJ lives in Bluffton with his wife Kathy, and has two children that are currently in college. They enjoy boating, golf, and everything else that the Lowcountry has to offer.
