CLIMATE ACTION AFRICA

Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for approximately 7% of global greenhouse gas emissions as of 2021, but faces significant threats from climate change. Crop failure, livestock morbidity and biodiversity loss are among impacts experienced across the region... Based on needs identified at the local level, the Expert Deployment Mechanism for Climate Action in Africa Project deploys Canadian climate change experts to partner with governments, NGOs, the private sector, civil society organizations and post-secondary institutions on targeted, short-term technical assistance projects in support of implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement across the region - with a focus on increasing women's capabilities to fully participate as active agents of change... Canada's new Climate Action in Africa Project works with partners to deploy Canadian climate change experts to assist Sub-Saharan Africa countries taking climate action.
