Ava Receptionist

As a vet receptionist, Ava gets to combine her love for animals with helping people. Ava enjoys greeting both pets and owners that come in and telling them stories about her own dog and cat at home. Currently studying zoology at Bristol University, Ava is excited to further expand her knowledge of animal care and behaviour.

Aylin Receptionist

Aylin has been a qualified Receptionist since February 2024 after studying Animal Management at Hartpury University. She is passionate about all animals and their welfare. Aylin has years of previous work experience in the animal industry and enjoys being the first point of contact for clients. As a Receptionist, Aylin is responsible for welcoming clients and their furry companions, ensuring they leave feeling happy with the service, taking payments and giving treats!

David Jackson

David has 15 years' experience as a veterinary surgeon in small animal practice. He originally graduated in Biochemistry from Cambridge University and then re-trained as a vet, obtaining his veterinary degree in 2009 from the University of Kosice (Slovak Republic). He has worked in a variety of different practices, ranging from small clinics to larger hospitals. David has a special interest in Internal Medicine. He is a peer-reviewed, published author in this field, has completed two years of extra training in specialist-led, multidisciplinary referral centres and is currently working towards the BSAVA post-graduate certificate in Internal Medicine. Outside of work, David enjoys rock climbing and can usually be found getting an adrenaline-fix on the limestone cliffs of the Wye Valley. He is passionate about philanthropy and has publicly pledged to donate a minimum of 10% of his life-time income to charitable causes.

Debbie Jackson

Debbie found her calling in animal care here at Clifton Vets in 2018 as a Veterinary Care Assistant and is dedicated to being a comforting presence for pets and their owners during their visits. When Debbie's first pet dog came to her, she knew she wanted to work with animals so embarked on a career as a professional dog groomer which led to her to working further in animal care and veterinary administration here at Clifton Vets. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys getting creative with dressmaking and is the proud owner of Gracie, her Wheaten Terrier who enjoys long walks.

Ellie Massey RVN

Ellie qualified in 2022 after studying a level 3 diploma in veterinary nursing. Ellie started to study veterinary nursing as soon as she left school in 2017 so has been in practice for 7 years including her time as a student! Ellie joined us here at Clifton vets as a registered veterinary nurse in January 2023. Ellie enjoys all aspects of nursing but if she had to pick 1 area it would be anaesthesia, although she has also recently completed her BVNA oral care nurse certificate! Outside of work Ellie can often be found in her kitchen baking cakes which she enjoys, or with her 2 dogs - a rough collie and a rescue Yorkshire terrier!

Hannah Miller RVN

Hannah qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2019 and has been with Clifton Vets since 2021. Her main interests include pet nutrition, obesity care, and anaesthesia. She is a feline advocate, and prides herself in maintaining high standards of care for all patients. Hannah has two cats and spends her time off socialising in Bristol and hiking the local countryside.

Jade Receptionist

Jade joined us here at Clifton Vets in 2022. Jade always seeks ways she can work alongside animals whilst also sharing her motivation for excellent client care. Jade loves to travel, she previously worked as domestic & agricultural veterinary support staff for nearly 5 years in Canada and as a horse trainer in rural Spain for 3 years. In Jade's free-time she enjoys adventures with her hiking boots & tent, yoga studies and puzzle training with her one-eyed cat.

Josie Receptionist

Josie has been working on reception at Clifton Veterinary Practice since September 2019. Josie is passionate about animals and their care, and enjoys meeting and greeting them all as they come in to the vets. Her free time is spent with her family going for long dog walks with their rescue dog Frida, and riding their family horses.

Si n Porter

Job Titles:
  • Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Si n qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and has since worked in companion animal practice in the UK and Australia. She has worked in both the private and charity sectors and takes great pride in providing a high standard of care for all her patients. Si n has a particular interest in surgery and achieved a post-graduate certificate in this field in 2021. In addition to performing operations, she especially enjoys caring for elderly patients to ensure their health and wellbeing needs are being met during their golden years. Outside of work, Si n can be found playing netball or hiking with friends.
