Dr Ross Williams - Founder

Dr Ross Williams is the founder and principal of Crickets Mastering. Ross Williams obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Adelaide (Australia) in 1990. He developed cutting-edge data integrity and redundancy-elimination software technologies and founded the software company Rocksoft which was sold to ADIC/Quantum in 2006. He founded the company Carbon Planet whose mission was to reduce global carbon emissions, but the company wound up in 2010. Since then he has been involved in various software projects. In 2017 he became interested in music production and pursued it intensely as a hobby. In 2018, he completed the Hyperbits Masterclass music production course. In 2019, he trained on the SoundGym platform (frequented by musicians, music producers, and sound engineers), earned a Diamond rating ( top 2% of all platform users) and became a SoundGym Hero. He has over 2000 followers on SoundGym. In early 2020, he commenced trained as a mastering engineer at mastering.com and completed the training course in December 2020. He founded Crickets Mastering on 1 January 2021. Ross is a music producer himself, and during 2018 to 2020 Ross created and released over 30 of his own tracks on his SoundCloud Account. Ross has written over five MIDI and Audio plugins using JUCE/C++. Ross has his own ISRC registrant code which is "2EN", assigned by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
