DESSERTS AND ALCOHOL

Desserts and Alcohol is an homage to my inner child's imagination and love for creativity. Ever since that first day at Gallery 37, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the food industry. Growing up on the West Side of Chicago, getting to escape into a stainless-steel kitchen with ingredients and equipment I had never heard of before felt like freedom. It's the same feeling I get when I'm crafting a cocktail. When I realized that I didn't have to decide between pursuing one craft over the other, or rather that I couldn't decide, that is the day that DNA was born... I came into my love for cooking at a ten-week culinary program held at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts in Downtown Chicago. I was in the fifth grade at the time and had my heart set on pursuing a career in writing. Coincidence enough, it is through writing that I was able to attend the program. I won first prize in an essay contest and learned that I would be getting the chance to work with a personal chef learning..
