Gary McGoffin

Founding partner Gary McGoffin handles a wide range of business and healthcare litigation cases. Admitted to practice in 1976, Gary has memberships in the Louisiana State Bar Association, United States District Court Eastern, Western and Middle Districts, the United States Fifth Circuit of Appeal and the Lafayette Parish Bar Association. Gary attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) from 1970-1973, continuing to earn his Juris Doctor in 1976 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. He has served in the Louisiana State Bar House of Delegates, as the Lafayette Parish Bar Association president, and is a recipient of the Crystal Gavel Award. Gary is heavily involved in giving back to the community and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, as Chairman and Trustee of the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority, as President of the Lafayette Public Library Foundation and as President of the Evangeline Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Randy M. Guidry

Randy Guidry represents clients seeking assistance in personal injury claims and litigation issues. In 2000, Randy was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar. He is a graduate of Southern Technical College (1991), the University of Southwestern Louisiana (currently the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) (1997) and Southern University Law Center (2000) where he graduated first in his class. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Association for Justice, Acadiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Louisiana Trial Lawyers. Randy excels at personal injury litigation, family law and criminal defense, and can effectively handle most general civil litigation. Steven G. "Buzz" Durio

Founding partner Buzz Durio specializes in selected commercial business cases. With 37 years of legal proceedings in areas including business and commercial litigations; banking and financial institutions; mergers and acquisitions; and shareholder rights, he has conducted trials, appeals, arbitrations, mediations, review panels, and administrative hearings in city, parish, state, and federal trial and appellate courts. After receiving a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in 1977, Buzz received his Juris Doctor from the University's Paul M. Hebert School of Law. Founding partners Buzz Durio, Gary McGoffin, and Bill Stagg formed Durio, McGoffin, and Stagg in 1985. Each an Eagle Scout, they first met in the late 1960s as Boy Scout counselors at Camp Thistlethwaite near Washington, Louisiana. The mutual trust and friendship they developed as young men has served as a guiding force in the firm's professional growth and evolution.

Founding partner Bill Stagg provides experience, expertise, and leadership to the intellectual property and healthcare practitioners at DMSA. Bill received his Juris Doctor degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and was admitted to the State Bar of Louisiana in 1982. Bill is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth and Federal Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and is registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has an AV rating from Martindale Hubble. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree (the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 1973) and a Master of Civil Engineering degree (University of Houston, 1977). Prior to practicing law, Bill practiced civil and structural engineering in Texas and Louisiana where he was a registered Professional Engineer. He is a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society and he remains registered as a Professional Engineer (inactive) in Louisiana. Bill is a member of the Board of Directors and a past president of the Acadiana Inn of the American Inns of Court, a member of the board of directors of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation, and an Assistant Examiner for the Louisiana bar exam. Bill serves as counsel for the Board of Trustees of Regional Medical Center of Acadiana and Women's and Children's Hospital in Lafayette.
