JEWEL CHAMPBELL

Jewel Champbell is a photographer and archivist based in Brooklyn, NY. She is an alumna of Morgan State University, where she honed her skills and passion for capturing the essence of culture and identity through the lens of her camera. Jewel's work serves as a medium for storytelling, weaving together narratives deeply rooted in historical archives. With a profound appreciation for the rich tapestry of human experience, she combines visual artistry with the preservation of heritage. Through her work, Jewel aims to evoke thought, provoke emotion, and ignite conversations about the complexities of our shared history and the diverse range of identities that shape our world. In Spring 2023, she received Morgan State University's 2023 President's Second Mile Award. She is a member of Black Women Photographers.
