Douglas E. Singer

Douglas has practiced U.S. domestic corporate and contract law in New York for more than forty years. His work includes establishing and maintaining corporations and limited liability companies, drafting and negotiating business and commercial contracts generally and advising clients regarding, and negotiating and drafting documents for, mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Douglas has experience in social enterprise law. In that regard, he has worked with individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations which are pursuing social, environmental and economic responsibility initiatives through entities such as benefit corporations and entities which are Certified B Corporations. For some clients, Douglas has served as an outsourced, in-house general counsel, a role which involves providing legal advice in the context of business and strategic considerations. In particular, Douglas uses a relationship-based approach to understand the mission and goals of his business clients and assist them in the strategy implementation. He is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of, and serves as general counsel to The Business Council of New York, the largest business membership organization in Westchester County, New York. Douglas received the Juris Doctor at Columbia University Law School where he was a Stone Scholar, and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. He has an AV® Peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1978.

Elena Olivetti

Elena developed a strong expertise in contractual, corporate and commercial law, assisting Italian and foreign companies, operating in different industries such as food (wholesale and retail), tourism and real estate, providing advice both on a day-to-day basis and on corporate transactions. Elena has a relevant experience in medical malpractice, commercial and bankruptcy litigation. She has also developed a significant experience in the negotiation of settlements procedures, in Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADR) and in domestic and international arbitration, both as counsel and as arbitrator. Elena is one of the founders, a member of the board of directors and, from June 2020, also President of "Arbitrando" (www.arbitrando.eu), an association promoting the culture and the practice of arbitration in Italy. She regularly carries out training activities and seminars about this topic, often partnering with different arbitral institutions as well as industrial and professional associations. She also drafted arbitration rules for arbitral institutions. She is co-author of several arbitration publications. Elena took the Laurea in Giurisprudenza at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 1994 and has been a visiting student at Seton Hall Law School in Newark (New Jersey). She has been admitted to practice law in Italy in 1998. In 2015 she has also been admitted to practice before the Corte di Cassazione (Italian Supreme Court).

Hanz Giovanni Chiappetta

Hanz practices in Italy and New York, providing legal advice to Italian and foreign companies. In particular, he has developed specific expertise in corporate transactions and international commercial transactions focusing on export control law. Hanz has a developed expertise in assisting Italian and foreign companies operating in the fashion and mechanical industries. He also provides advice to high net worth individuals in structuring national and international investment, focusing on corporate and commercial law aspects. Hanz assists multinationals in international commercial litigation cases in front of Italian Courts. He also frequently collaborates with foreign lawyers in assisting Italian companies in overseas judicial proceedings, particularly in Western Europe and the United States. He regularly lectures on international commercial law at the major Italian industrial and professional associations and he also wrote articles on international law topics that have been published both in Italy and the United States. Hanz is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the International Chamber of Commerce. Hanz took the Laurea in Giurisprudenza at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 1999 and took a Master in Comparative Legal Studies (LL.M.) in the United States. Marika Romani

Marika practices in international commercial law, domestic and international commercial litigation, personal data protection and corporate transactions. She has also developed a specific expertise in export control law. Frequently she collaborates with foreign lawyers in assisting Italian companies in international litigation, particularly in French speaking countries. Marika also wrote articles on international law topics that have been published in Italy. From September 2010 to January 2011, through an Erasmus scholarship, Marika attended a semester at the Paris-Est Université Créteil Val de Marne, where she focused on international and European law. Marika took the Laurea in Giurisprudenza at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2012 and she has been admitted to practice law in Italy in 2018.

Marino Marinelli

Marino has gained significant experience in the field of international litigation and serves as an arbitrator, including in proceedings administered by the leading international arbitration institutions. He is a member of the scientific committees of authoritative Italian and international law journals, has authored several publications on civil procedure law, arbitration law, international and European civil procedure law, tax and administrative procedure law and lectures at scientific conferences, workshops and graduate programs. After a series of periods of study and research in Monaco, Berlin, Innsbruck and Vienna, since 2006 he has been a Professor of Civil Procedure Law at the Faculty of Law at the Università di Trento and, since 2007, a visiting professor at the University of Vienna, where he teaches Civil Procedure and International Commercial Arbitration Law. In 2011 he earned the title of Honorarprofessor at the University of Innsbruck. Marino took the Laurea in Giurisprudenza at the Università di Padova and he is a member of the Italian Bar since 1998.

Matteo Mussi

Matteo has always focused his practice in intellectual property law. Before joining Lawtelier® he practiced in a major boutique law firm in Milan where he had the chance to develop an accurate expertise in this specific area of law. Matteo developed a significant expertise on patents, trademarks, design, unfair competition, domain names and he counseled in some of the major Italian cases. He also assists clients in corporate transactions dealing with intellectual property issues. Matteo assists Italian and foreign companies of all sizes and belonging to different industries, in particular, food, automotive, fashion, mechanical, packaging, furniture and GDO industries. Matteo costantly lectures on intellectual property topics and he is a member of AIPPI, INTA, Les Italy and ECTA. He took the Laurea in Giurisprudenza at the Università degli Studi di Milano and he has been admitted to practice law in Italy in 2006. In 2018 he has also been admitted to practice before the Corte di Cassazione (Italian Supreme Court).

Matthew A. Bock

Matthew's practice is dedicated to international trade law, focusing on customs, export controls and international economic sanctions. Matthew's experience includes conducting audits and risk assessments and developing and implementing internal compliance programs on export controls and international economic sanctions, conducting import and export classification, and determining eligibility for free trade and tariff agreements. In addition, Matthew's experience includes export controls and sanctions compliance due diligence in the context of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, as well as guidance and assistance on export license applications and management. He also represents clients in front of the federal agencies that regulate international trade in the United States, including the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), by, for example, preparing and filing voluntary disclosures and providing assistance in delisting procedures. Matthew received a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School (Los Angeles) and a LL.M. from the University of London, SOAS. He is a licensed customs broker and has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in New York. He also has been admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Michael Pampalone III

Michael practices U.S. domestic and international trademark and copyright law. He continuously assists foreign companies and individuals operating in the United States in addressing all trademark and copyright issues they may encounter, including the preparation and filing of trademark and copyright applications, serving as the U.S. licensed attorney-of-record in connection therewith, as well as prosecuting and defending trademark opposition proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and claims of infringement in the U.S. Michael is a member of New York State Bar Association, the International Trademark Association ("INTA") and is currently serving as a Member in the INTA's Indigenous Rights Committee. Michael is a graduate of Indiana University and Tulane University Law School, where he was admitted to the Order of the Barristers, served as a Board Member of the Moot Court Trial Team and was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Contracts. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2005.

Robert I. Goodman

Robert practices U.S. domestic and international commercial law. As part of his practice, he provides a range of complex corporate, intellectual property, international trade, commercial immigration and consular law services and litigation services to a wide range of commercial clients. He continuously assists foreign companies operating in the United States and has been specifically involved in the establishment and assistance of hedge funds, telecommunication companies, financial institutions and e-commerce companies. He has also provided a range of consulting services to law firms and human resources departments on a range of employment, immigration and consular law matters, as well as representing clients in regulatory proceedings. He is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers' Association, of the Westchester Bar Association and regularly writes articles on Immigration Law in the online magazine "Latin Business Today". Robert received the Juris Doctor at Columbia University School of Law and has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1991 and in District of Columbia in 1992.
