Angie Calhoun - CEO, Founder

Angie Calhoun is the Founder and CEO of the Mississippi Cannabis Patients Alliance. Her passion for her role as a medical cannabis patient advocate emerged while witnessing first-hand the life-changing benefits of medical cannabis for individuals with debilitating medical conditions as her son battled severe Lyme Disease. For years, Angie has shared her son's medical cannabis journey with people across the state of Mississippi. She actively campaigned for Initiative 65, participated in three Mississippi Secretary of State Hearings, hosted a Patient's for Initiative 65 rally, debated live on Mississippi Public Broadcasting, has written multiple op-eds, hosted a press conference on the Mississippi State Capitol Steps and has been interviewed numerous times by the press regarding the benefits of medical cannabis. Angie is the past Board Chair of the Mississippi Medical Marijuana Association where she stepped down to start the Mississippi Cannabis Patients Alliance As the Founder of the Mississippi Cannabis Patients Alliance (MCPA) Angie's passion for her role as a medical cannabis patient advocate emerged while witnessing first-hand the life-changing benefits of medical cannabis as her son, Austin, began battling severe Lyme Disease at the age of 17. As his Lyme Disease became chronic, he suffered debilitating seizures, severe joint pain, nausea, and vomiting along with several other health issues. After a long journey of over 20 doctors and 17 prescription medications without relief, Austin made the decision at the age of 19 to move to a state with a legal and regulated medical marijuana program. Austin was able to eventually stop taking all 17 prescriptions. Today, he lives a healthy and happy life. Angie has devoted her life to sharing Austin's story throughout the state and assuring patients in Mississippi have the medical freedom to improve their quality of life through the safe and well-regulated use of medical cannabis.

Dr. Nathan McIntosh

Dr. Nathan McIntosh is a Mississippi physician with a passion to improve healthcare. His medical education and specialty training were completed at the University of Mississippi. There, Dr. McIntosh began acquiring in-depth knowledge and invaluable experiences in the care of individuals from all over the state, which fueled his drive to continue developing and improving systems of care. Serving in leadership roles across various organizations has provided him with opportunities to be on teams designing and implementing strategies that improve the operations of healthcare delivery and the enhanced care of Mississippi patients. Practicing medicine has allowed him to engage with many people by providing treatments, as well as improving their health awareness and knowledge.

Irl Dean Rhodes

Irl Dean Rhodes began a lifetime of service to his community and state while a student at Hinds Community College, and then served as the executive manager of the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce. In 1960, at just 22 years of age, Rhodes was elected to serve in the Mississippi Legislature. In 1964, he was elected Rankin County Chancery Clerk-a position he held for 24 years. He is one of the charter members of the Hinds Foundation where he continues to serve. Irl Dean is currently serving on the Centennial Committee, Rankin First, Rankin County Chamber of Commerce, and is a board member of the Rankin County Republican Executive Committee. He is a well-respected leader and political advisor who has been involved in politics for 63 years in Mississippi.

Judge Kent McDaniel - Chairman

Judge McDaniel has dedicated over 38 years of his life to public service. He served as Rankin County Court Judge for the past 24 years before retiring in September, 2021. He began his career of state public service with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics as one of the original agents in 1972. He worked undercover for three years, and then supervised investigations in 27 counties in south Mississippi. He was Deputy Commissioner of Corrections 1979-1980. In 1980, he became director of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy and served the Academy until 1986. After managing his own private law practice for three years, he was appointed First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi, where he served until 1995.

William Trey Jones III

Trey graduated from Mississippi College in 1998 with his Juris Doctor. He joined the Brunini Firm in 1999 after serving as law clerk for the United States District Court, Southern District of Mississippi. He practices general civil litigation and focuses on a variety of sub-specialties within that area. Trey has been selected by Best Lawyers® in America in the numerous fields of Litigation and Mass Tort. He has also been recognized as a Benchmark Appellate Star, Mid-South Rising Star, American Lawyer & Corporate Counsel's Top Rated Lawyer® for Appellate Law and is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. Trey's professional and civic activities include membership in numerous state and federal bar associations.

Willie M. Bozeman

As the founder and President of WB Consolidated Consultants, Willie M. Bozeman, has successfully represented clients at the Mississippi Legislature for nearly 23 years. Prior to becoming a political consultant and lobbyist, Willie served eight years in the Mississippi Legislature's House of Representatives on behalf of District 76 as a Democrat. While serving as a legislator, he worked to improve education opportunities for Mississippi's children, provide better insurance and increased salaries for public school teachers, and supported economic development opportunities throughout the state. As a lobbyist Willie has represented national, state, and local business, associations, and non-profit organizations. Willie's diverse clientele is evidence of his restless efforts to bring parties together to find solutions and compromises to Mississippi's toughest challenges.
