Patricia E. Roche

Patricia E. Roche joined the firm in 1987. She concentrates her practice on family law matters and estate planning and administration matters. Ms. Roche is committed to work closely with each client, to educate the client about the law, and to working together to achieve realistic goals and objectives. Ms. Roche has extensive experience with divorce, child custody, parenting schedules (visitation), child support, spousal support, property valuation and division, prenuptial agreements, mediation, domestic violence, adoption, and post-judgment applications for modifications. Ms. Roche also has extensive experience with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and the administration of estates. Ms. Roche received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Montclair State College in 1973 and 1975, and her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University in 1986. She served as Law Clerk to the Honorable June Strelecki, former Presiding Judge of the Superior Court, Chancery Division- Family Part in Essex County in 1986-1987. She was admitted to the bar in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1986. Ms. Roche has been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney since 2003. Ms. Roche currently serves as Trustee of the Morris County Bar Foundation. She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State of New Jersey and Morris County Bar Associations. She completed the Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute of the American Bar Association Family Law Section in 1989. She is a past member of the Worrall F. Mountain Inn of Court. Ms. Roche has served as a volunteer attorney for the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panels and Blue Ribbon Panels in Morris County since 1991 and has served as a volunteer attorney for the Morris County Family Law Resource Project since its inception in 2012. She has been appointed by the Court as Guardian Ad Litem and received appointments in other capacities. Ms. Roche has served as president of the Randolph Rotary Club and as chair of the parents' committee of Troop 3 of the Boy Scouts of America.

Patrick J. Dwyer

Patrick J. Dwyer joined the transactional section of the firm in May, 2013. He is the former General Counsel for High Ridge Properties, a real estate development firm headquartered in Manhattan. While at High Ridge he managed all legal affairs in connection with the development and leasing of a variety of commercial and residential real estate projects. He has also previously been engaged in general practice. Since joining the firm, Mr. Dwyer has concentrated his practice on business and real estate transactions and related litigation. He represents developers, lenders, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers and brokers throughout Northern New Jersey and the metropolitan New York City area. He also represents several municipal land use boards and a regional sewerage authority. Mr. Dwyer graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to the New Jersey Bar, New York Bar, United States District Court of New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Second and Third Federal District Courts. He is a member of the Morris County, New Jersey and American Bar Associations. Mr. Dwyer currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Land Use Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and as Associate Counsel for the New Jersey Planning Officials. He is a frequent panelist at land use and real estate seminars. He volunteers his time on behalf of Rebuilding Together NJ and the Mt. Olive Child Care & Learning Center.

Sharon L. Freeman

Sharon L. Freeman has been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers' Compensation Law Attorney since March 2002. Since joining the firm in 1994, Ms. Freeman has concentrated her practice in the area of New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law, zealously representing injured workers and their dependents before the New Jersey Appellate Court and the Division of Workers' Compensation in over 12 counties throughout the State of New Jersey. Ms. Freeman is bilingual in English and Spanish. Ms. Freeman received a Bachelor of Science of Business Commerce, with a concentration in Spanish, from Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey in 1989. She received her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in December 1992. Ms. Freeman was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in June 1993, to the Pennsylvania Bar in July 1993 and to the United States District Court in June 1993. Ms. Freeman taught "Workers' Compensation," as an Adjunct Professor, at the Sussex County Community College and served as the moderator and a panelist for seminars offered by the New Jersey State Bar Association's Institute for Continued Legal Education and by the Morris County Bar Association. Ms. Freeman has been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Morris County Bar Association since 1994. She was a member of the New Jersey Workers' Compensation Section of the American Inns of Court Foundation from September 1997 to May 1999 as a pupil and from September 1999 to May 2000 as a barrister. From 2007 to present, Ms. Freeman has been an active member on the New Jersey State Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Executive Committee. Since 2014 to date Ms. Freeman has served as the Chair of the Morris County Bar Association's Workers' Compensation law Section.

Steven J. Loewenthal

Steven J. Loewenthal has repeatedly been rated a "Super Lawyer" and "Lead Counsel," named as a "Top Lawyer" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and, based upon several of his outstanding results has been accepted as a member of the Million and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Steve is ivy-league trained (Columbia University J.D.) and a New Jersey Supreme Court Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction held by less than 2% of lawyers in the State. He joined Lew Stein and Bob Kobin in Nusbaum Stein's litigation practice in January 2007, after practicing in New York for ten years, where he began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Rockland County prosecuting crime, completed a two year federal clerkship with the United States Magistrate Judge Frank Maas of the Southern District of New York, and most recently was a partner at Heidell, Pittoni, Murphy & Bach, LLP, a firm specializing in defending medical malpractice and products liability lawsuits. During his five years at Heidell, Pittoni, he gained extensive litigation experience defending physicians, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. Since joining Nusbaum Stein in 2007, Steve has switched sides and, for over a decade, has focused his practice on representing people who have been injured in accidents caused by automobile negligence, hazardous conditions on premises, workplace hazards, defective consumer products, industrial equipment, and professional malpractice. His extensive experience defending lawsuits during his time at Heidell Pittoni in New York provides him a unique understanding now of what the defense strategy is against his clients' claims. Steve graduated from Binghamton University in 1992 with Phi Beta Kappa honors and received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1996. He is admitted to the New York Bar, New Jersey Bar, United States District Court of New Jersey, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Steve currently sits as an Officer (Second Vice President) for the Morris County Bar Association. He also a long standing member of New Jersey Association for Justice, New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He has given several lectures on litigation techniques for each of these organizations.

Susan B. Reed

Susan B. Reed joined the litigation section of the firm in November 2002. Previously Ms. Reed handled personal injury cases and real estate litigation for the law firm of Thatcher and Lanza, of Flemington, New Jersey. From 1991 to 2002 Ms. Reed served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. While an Assistant Prosecutor, Ms. Reed was the Chief of the White Collar Crime Unit, the Confidential Unit, and the Computer Crime Unit. Ms. Reed prosecuted cases involving fraudulent activities, official misconduct, and computer related offenses. Ms. Reed also served as a Managing Assistant Prosecutor where she supervised Assistant Prosecutors and provided advice to the First Assistant regarding policy, procedure, budget, and other managerial issues. Ms. Reed was named Prosecutor of the Year in 1996. Prior to joining the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Ms. Reed was a partner at the law firm of Gannon, Murphy and Schwartz, of Morristown, New Jersey. There, Ms. Reed handled criminal, municipal, matrimonial, estate, adoptions, expungements, real estate, personal injury, and commercial litigation cases. Ms. Reed completed a one year clerkship for the Honorable John F. Kingfield from 1987 to 1988 in Warren County. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton and her Bachelor's of Arts degree from George Washington University. Ms. Reed is admitted to the New Jersey Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She also sits on the District XA Ethics Committee and is a Pupil in the Justice James H. Coleman, Jr., New Jersey Workers' Compensation American Inn of Court.
