PPHC was a part of the National Progressive Primary Health Care Network (NPPHCN) that was established in 1987 as a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO), with a focus on advocacy and lobbying on health care matters for disadvantaged communities and women's wellbeing. The KZN branch of the NPPHCN known as KZNPPHC was registered in 1999 and survived the dissolution of the national organization and has subsequently become PPHC... PPHC provides comprehensive primary health care support to South African communities enabling them to undertake health - promoting practices that result in improved health status.
