Dr. Tanna is an avid reader, loves to sing, has tried needlework of all kinds, and takes satisfaction in growing things. Since 2015, she has been a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children). Folding laundry is a meditative act for her. She is her family's primary genealogist, and is the collector of family treasures. She once entertained the idea of training for a marathon, but if you come across her on the Chessie Trail or in Brushy Hills, she will probably be walking instead of running.
Dr. Carola Tanna is board certified in internal medicine. She spent the first decade of her life in Oak Ridge, TN. In her next two decades, she became adept at moving to new towns in New York, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Maryland. Her longest place of residence was Lake Buff, IL, where she raised her four children. Having experienced life in cities of all sizes, she is happy to be in Lexington. Her move here was prompted by her July 2020 marriage to Will Dudley, who she first met when they were both undergraduates at Williams College.
Dr. Tanna find the working of the human body endlessly fascinating, and she believes that sharing that knowledge is the best way to motivate her patients to make healthy choices. Though she has witnessed the lifesaving aspect of many medications and procedures, she marvels equally at the restorative power of good habits. She was drawn to Rockbridge Health because of a shared understanding that optimal health care happens when there is adequate time for listening and education within the setting of a personal relationship between the physician and patient.
