Advertising Flag Company was founded in 1936 by Frank F. Smith, a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for craftsmanship. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Frank made his way to Chicago to work at the Century of Progress (Chicago World's Fair), which took place from May 1933 through October 1934. During the fair, he made his mark by selling novelty products, laying the foundation for what would become a legacy of quality flag and banner manufacturing.
