Our organization is comprised of individuals striving to solve fundamentally human problems regarding food. In 1948, The United Nations published the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate to health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care…" (Article 25). However, despite being a member of the United Nations, both currently and before the declaration's publication, the U.S. has failed to establish equitable access to food. Therefore, we have made it our mission to correct this injustice by facilitating practices which promote equitable access to food... We remain committed to the idea that fresh, nutritious food acts as the foundation for a healthy mind, body, and soul.
