Becca Stephens

Becca began her career in vet medicine as our receptionist when the clinic first opened. She then went to the Emergency Veterinary Services of Roanoke temporarily but knew All For Paws would always be her home. She graduated from Radford University with a degree in Mathematics with the goal of being a math teacher, but once she started working in vet medicine, she knew this was the career for her. When she was growing up, there was never a time where they did not have pets in the household. Her favorite part about being the Practice Manager is being able to be a mentor to the staff, not only with work issues but also life advice. When she isn't at work, Becca spends her time obsessing over her dog, Chloe and buying her many outfits.

Brittany Bolger

Originally from New Jersey, Brittany started working at All For Paws as a kennel technician, but because of her love and knowledge for animals, she has begun working as a veterinary assistant! She is currently a student at Virginia Tech, majoring in Animal and Poultry Science to achieve her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She was inspired to get into animal care when she moved to Virginia in 2014 years ago and has been volunteering and donating to animal shelters ever since. She is always willing to lend an extra hand and will do everything she can to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable. When she's not loving on animals, she's either with her family and spunky poodle mix, hiking, or writing. She loves large dogs and horseback riding.

Dr. Emily Gallagher

Dr. Emily Gallagher graduated from Vet School in 2010 from Ross University and then did an extension in South Africa practicing wildlife and conservatory management. She came to know Dr. Butler while working at the Emergency Veterinary and Specialty Services of Roanoke. She currently works for us part-time. Dr. Gallagher has years of experience in emergency medicine but recently took a full-time position back to general practice in Roanoke. We are very lucky to have her knowledge of emergency medicine!

Dr. Jasmine Hanson

Dr. Jasmine Hanson joined our team as an associate veterinarian in June of 2022. Dr. Hanson attended undergraduate school at the University of Lincoln-Nebraska and obtained her bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in May of 2022. A few of her major accomplishments in veterinary school were being a top-placing individual in the interactive scenarios of the veterinary division of the animal welfare judging competition, becoming Fear Free Certified, and earning her business certificate with honors. Her passion is in the welfare of animals, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. She enjoys reading and playing video games when she is not at work. She is also excited to hike and explore Virginia with her spouse. Her family consists of 2 ferrets, Artemis and Luna, and a boxer, Koda!

Dr. Katy Dempsey

Dr. Katy Dempsey is a 2011 graduate of the VMRCVM vet school at Virginia Tech. Since then she has been practicing small animal medicine in Princeton, Blacksburg, and Dublin. Dr. Dempsey grew up in Maryland, then attended Tulane University in New Orleans. After college, she lived in Shanghai, China for two years, before attending vet school. She currently lives in Blacksburg with her husband and two cats, Benny and Oscar. She loves all animals but particularly likes working with cats, dogs, and ferrets. Dr. Dempsey is an avid sports fan, and can't get enough football or college basketball. Her other interests include traveling, reading, spinning, and cooking.

Dr. Virginia Butler - Founder

Dr. Virginia Butler is not only our founder but also our fearless leader and mentor. She has been a practicing veterinarian since 2001. She did her undergraduate study at the University of Mary Washington and then attended the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. While working at several general practices and an emergency clinic, she knew her dream was to open her own clinic so allow her to serve the community and be closer to home. She has put her entire heart and soul into this clinic. She is a passionate advocate for the well-being and health of animals and treats every patient as her own. When she is not at work, she is raising her 3 kids and mentoring her oldest daughter, Dr. Jordan!

Gabbie Schmitt

Gabbie recently was accepted into The Master of Public Health at Virginia Tech. While working towards her master's degree, Gabbie plans to apply to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech to pursue her dream of being a Veterinarian. Gabbie has several years of experience working as a veterinary assistant at clinics in Virginia and Pennsylvania. She has also done research in poultry while obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences. In her free time, Gabbie spends time with her boyfriend and 2 cats, Whopper and Toast!

Gina Guilfoyle

Gina is our Jack Of All Trades and can be found helping out anywhere we need an extra hand. She began her career in veterinary medicine in 1997 and has not looked back since. She became an LVT in 2000, but then took a small break to raise her 2 daughters. She is excited to be back in the veterinary field and earned her LVT again in July of 2020! At work, Gina is mostly found at the reception desk, as she loves making personal connections with each of our clients. Her knowledge that came along with achieving her veterinary technician license proves to be an asset to the front desk, as it helps triage patients and be able to discuss preventative care with clients. She does have a passion for helping with more challenging patients that might need a little more patience to get past their fears. Outside of work, Gina enjoys quilting, hiking, and time on the water with her family!

Hannah Bentley

  • Veterinary Assistant
Hannah knew ever since she was young that she had the biggest heart for animals and knew she belonged in vet medicine. Hannah said she always knew animals made her happy, so she wanted the opportunity to make them happy as well. She is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. Her favorite thing to do as an assistant is filling prescriptions and learning about the different medications. When she is not at work, she can most likely be found cuddling with her pets, which include 10 cats and a Siberian husky, watching Netflix, or napping.

Hannah Collins

An aspiring Licensed Veterinary Technician, Hannah grew up on a family-owned dairy farm in Riner, VA. She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster's Veterinary Technician program and on track to pursue her dream job. She was also the FFA President in her high school. Hannah's favorite thing about being an assistant is assisting with radiographs. She enjoys finding ways to accommodate the individual needs of each pet. When she is not at work, Hannah enjoys riding horses and four-wheelers and spending time with her family and friends.

Heather Jordan

Dr. Heather Jordan joined our team as a new graduate in June of 2020. Do not let the term "new graduate" scare you. Dr. Jordan was born to be a veterinarian and has knowledge was beyond her years. Dr. Jordan did her undergraduate study at Virginia Tech and then attended the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. While in school, she worked as an assistant here at All For Paws. She is extremely excited to be working alongside her life-long mentor, her mom, Dr. Virginia Butler. Dr. Jordan is a native to Blacksburg and currently lives in Christiansburg with her husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats, a bearded dragon, and an axolotl!

Laura Cox

Laura joined is in 2020 and made a huge impact on our team. She previously worked for the local shelter, so helping the community and problem solving comes naturally to her. Animals have always been her passion, which inspired her to start her own rescue group, Pearls Piece Animal Rescue! Her home is filled with many 4-legged friends, but she has a special place in her heart for cats and dogs needing a little extra love and attention! No matter the situation, Laura handles it with compassion and professionalism and is a great go-to for any issues because she will always help find an answer!

Linsey Dean

Linsey is a Veterinary Assistant at All For Paws. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in animal science. She has been in Vet Medicine since 2015. She met Dr. Butler at another clinic and followed her when she opened her own. S he is currently enrolled in Technician school and is on track to be licensed in the next year. Linsey grew up on a beef cattle farm in Bland, VA. She has experience with everything from pigs to parrots. She owns a large farm in Bland and has a myriad of farm animals. She has always had a passion for animals and hopes to make a career in Vet Medicine. On her days off she enjoys time with her 2 fur babies, her dog, Turbo, and cat, Piper.

Luke Wells
