ALYPIUS' LOFT

Alypius (a pseudonym; known by friends as Emanuel) was born in 1991, and raised in the rural, paper-mill town of Canton, North Carolina. His love for the arts began to be fostered at an early age. Alypius observed his father finishing his formal education in the local community college, and was exposed to drafting, design, and woodworking. After discovering Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Alypius decided as a young child that he was going to become an illustrator... Despite his love for the arts, Alypius chose not to pursue education in a fine arts college. Instead, he chose to carve his own path while also focusing most of his attention on his family. Alypius married his wife, Yam, in 2014, and had two boys in the following years. It was during this time Alypius began developing his skills, specifically within the world of digital painting, illustration, and graphic design.
