This spring, Jakub Habarta joined the senior management team of Behind Inventions and became involved in managing the portfolio for the entire group. The year 2023 was marked by numerous changes and opportunities for him, and it seems 2024 will be no different. He is eagerly anticipating new projects, meeting interesting people, and exploring new technologies that he will encounter during their implementation.
The interview with Jan Balatka, who is currently in charge of Semantic Visions and behind Behind Inventions, is conducted by Diana Rádl Rogerová. Jan Balatka has been involved in computer technology his entire professional life and currently devotes his time primarily to Semantic Visions. Jan Balatka, partner at Behind Inventions, can be clearly associated with the areas of new technologies, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). He is currently Managing Director at Semantic Visions. At Behind Inventions, he is responsible for identifying innovative technologies, assessing technology companies in terms of their business potential and also, for example, for portfolio development in the field of AI-related technologies or services. We therefore asked what he predicts for 2024 in these areas.
Jan Balatka specializes in technology projects. After his studies, he started working in the Cyber Risk Management department at Deloitte. Over time, in addition to cyber threats, he focused on analytical and forensic technologies for fraud investigation services. Josef Kotrba, a partner at Behind Inventions, has dedicated his professional life to mergers and acquisitions and the energy sector. He currently holds the position of CEO at the Czech Gas Association and remains actively involved in M&A. With over 20 years of experience in large companies, his expertise makes him an ideal fit for guiding Behind Inventions' portfolio companies to new heights. He plans to focus on these companies next year, as he believes they will be at the epicenter of significant activity.
In his professional life, Josef Kotrba focuses mainly on mergers and acquisitions and the energy sector. He is currently the CEO of the Czech Gas Association and remains active in M&A.
