Brewer Public Library is now officially fine free! We will no longer be charging overdue fines for items checked out at our library. All Brewer Library items may be checked out for 4 weeks. Materials that are 30 days overdue will be put on "Lost" status, replacement cost will be assessed, and borrowing privileges will be suspended until items are returned or paid for. Many public libraries are shifting to fine free because of the barriers and inequity that fines create. Brewer Public Library is open to all community members and we aim to remove barriers to access such as overdue fines.
