CUSTOM ORTHOTICS

Having and performed thousands of successful surgeries involving the foot and ankle during the past 20 years, I have come to realize that a great deal of foot and ankle ailments can be avoided or cured by the proper custom-molded orthotic devices with the proper accommodations and modifications. Since the force is driven in an axial fashion to the knee hip and lower back, symptoms of pain and discomfort can also be decreased or resolved in those areas as well. For this to take place one must have a profound knowledge of the biomechanics of the foot as well as the various structures and anatomy of the foot and ankle and how it relates to the entire body. I came to this realization early into private practice and since then always placed a great deal of emphasis on conservative methods such as custom orthotics prior to any elective surgeries to simply attempt to alleviate the pain.
