Anna Mod

Anna Mod has over 20 years of experience as a historic preservation professional working with developers, non-profit, and public sector clients. She is a respected statewide leader, lecturer, author, and spokesperson for historic tax incentives and mid-century modern architecture. She one of the founders of Houston Mod, a board member of the Architecture Center Houston Foundation (ArCH) of the AIA Houston, and is on the advisory council of The Heritage Society. In 2016 she was named a National Trust for Historic Preservation advisor. Anna served as a commissioner on the Houston Archeological and Historical Commission from 2013-2017.

Barbara Yanni

Barbara Yanni is a long-time member of Docomomo US with a passion for modern architecture. Barbara is the proud owner of a Modernist house and an avid architectural traveler. She has over thirty years of experience in business development and financial evaluation in the pharmaceutical industry. Barbara retired from Merck and Co., Inc. in 2014 as head of its Corporate Licensing group; under her leadership the group successfully negotiated over 150 agreements to acquire rights to scientific innovations from biopharmaceutical companies and universities. Barbara currently serves as an independent director of three biopharmaceutical companies which are in the early stages of discovery and development. Barbara has a JD from Stanford Law School and an AB from Wellesley College where she studied physics and Latin. She also holds a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University.

Barry Solar

Barry Solar was a real estate lawyer and head of the real estate department of the Boston law firm, Burns & Levinson, for 30 years. He is now a real estate broker at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Boston. For over 30 years he owned a 1939 Bauhaus contemporary home in Lincoln, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School.

Bob Thomas

Bob's career in real estate springs from an interest in architecture of all kinds and a commitment to the importance of design quality. As co-founder of Saltaire Hotels, Bob brings a keen interest in the re-use and repositioning of underperforming hotels while maintaining and enhancing architectural quality and integrity. Prior to his work in hospitality, Bob developed adaptive re-use and new construction housing and mixed-use projects in the New York and Boston areas. As Project Manager at a New York based restoration consulting and contracting company, he designed and implemented restoration plans for many major historic buildings and monuments, including New York City's Grand Central Terminal, the Annapolis Naval Academy Chapel, and the Minnesota State Capital. In addition to working with DocomomoUS, Bob serves on the Advisory Board of the Boston Preservation Alliance, and as a Mentor for Preservation Alumni, Columbia University.

Bradford J. White

Brad is the Associate Director of the Alphawood Foundation, a Chicago-based private foundation working for an equitable, just and humane society. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing major project opportunities, providing funding recommendations, and leading implementation efforts. Prior work focused on affordable housing and community development. Brad was appointed by President Barack Obama as a General Public Member of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation in 2011; he was reappointed to the Advisory Council in 2014. Brad has led a variety of initiatives for the Council including an examination of rightsizing and Legacy Cities, development of the Community Revitalization Policy Statement, and creation of priorities and recommendations in light of the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act. Also, Brad serves as Chair of the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation. Previous leadership positions include President of Landmarks Illinois and Chair of Preservation Action.

Eric Keune

Eric has an unconventional stance on design: truly new ideas are tremendously rare. Hear him out-he's not one to abandon innovation and creativity. Instead, Eric sees our shared past as a rich source of valuable lessons. It's no surprise, then, that he's an accomplished architectural historian, having authored Paffard Keatinge-Clay: Modern Architecture/Modern Masters and co-authored 100 Buildings Every Architect Should Know. Informed by this broad historical knowledge, Eric's work exists at the intersection of design, architectural history, contemporary visual arts, and state-of-the-art building technology. And, despite dozens of design awards and international acclaim, his metrics for success are simple: impact people's lives, improve the environment, and transform contemporary society-to the benefit of all. Eric is the Design Director for the Boston studio of global architecture and design firm Perkins & Will. A self-proclaimed disciple and teacher of Modernism, he serves on the United States board of Docomomo, an international advocacy group focused on works of the Modern movement. Outside the studio, he's a father, collector of antique modern furniture and miniature buildings, as well as a classic car enthusiast.

Flora Chou - Treasurer

Flora Chou is a Senior Associate and Cultural Resources Planner for Page & Turnbull in the Los Angeles office. Based in California, Page & Turnbull is an architecture, planning, and conservation firm imagining change in historic environments through design, research, and technology. Flora leads the architectural history and preservation planning aspects of the firm's Southern California projects. As a Cultural Resources Planner, Flora researches and evaluates sites for their historic status eligibility; prepares a variety of reports including historic resource evaluations and technical reports, context statements, preservation plans, and landmark nominations; reviews projects for their compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (SOI Standards) and other applicable standards and guidelines; and assists with conditions assessments and treatment guidelines. Her experience with historic sites ranges from mid-19th century adobe structures to mid-20th century modern buildings. She works to integrate historic preservation with urban planning, sustainable design, and community development while incorporating diverse cultural resources more fully into the field. Flora holds a master's degree in historic preservation from Columbia University, a bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College, and is a LEED-accredited professional. Prior to joining Page & Turnbull in 2013, she was a preservation advocate for the Los Angeles Conservancy. She currently serves on the national board of Docomomo US, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the buildings and sites of the modern movement.

Gunny Harboe

Gunny Harboe, FAIA, Fellow US/ICOMOS, is a registered architect with nearly 30 years of experience and currently runs his own small firm. He has worked on many iconic modern masterpieces including numerous works by both Mies van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright. He received his M. Arch. from M.I.T., (including study in Copenhagen, Denmark); a M.Sc. in Historic Preservation from Columbia University; and an A.B. in History from Brown University. He also attended the ICCROM ARC course in Rome, Italy. His projects have received numerous awards, and he was named a "2001 Young Architect" by the National AIA, "Chicagoan of the Year" by Chicago Magazine in 2010, and received the 2015 Award for Excellence in Heritage Conservation from the Society of Architectural Historians. Gunny was a founding member and is a current Vice President of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on 20th Century Heritage, and was a founding member of Docomomo US where he remains on the board. He is also a current board member of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy and was a Regional Director of AIA National, and President of AIA Chicago. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Jesús (Chuy) Barba Bonilla

Jesús (Chuy) Barba Bonilla was born in Mexico and grew up in Zacatecas, a Spanish colonial mining city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which is where he became passionate about history and architecture. Jesús obtained his BA in architecture in 2012 from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico and moved to California in the same year. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Heritage Conservation at the University of Southern California while working as an Architectural Designer in the firm of Page & Turnbull.

Katie Horak - President

Katie Horak is a Principal at Architectural Resources Group and manages the firm's Downtown Los Angeles office. Her work at ARG ranges from rehabilitation projects on some of Los Angeles's most recognizable landmarks to large scale planning projects, including SurveyLA. In addition, Katie is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at USC, where she teaches graduate-level courses in historic resource documentation methods, and she is the founding President of the Southern California Chapter of Docomomo US.

Liz Waytkus

Liz Waytkus is the Executive Director of Docomomo US. In her ten plus years at Docomomo US, Ms. Waytkus is responsible for the development of new programming including the annual Docomomo US National Symposium and the Modernism in America Awards. Ms. Waytkus manages Docomomo US' advocacy efforts throughout the vast Docomomo US network and spear-headed efforts to Landmark the Ambassador Grill and the AT&T Building in New York City. Ms. Waytkus received her Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Pratt Institute and previously worked in the non-profit cultural and educational fields for more than a decade.

Michelangelo Sabatino

Michelangelo Sabatino trained as an architect, preservationist, and historian. As an educator, academic administrator, and award-winning scholar, Sabatino has shaped architectural discourse and practice in the Americas and beyond. Between 2017-19 Professor Sabatino served as interim dean for the College of Architecture of IIT and held the Rowe Family Endowed Dean Chair. He currently directs the PhD program in architecture and is the inaugural John Vinci Distinguished Research Fellow. Sabatino lectures widely about modern and contemporary architecture, participates in juries, and has served on a number of editorial and not-for-profit organization boards in Europe and the Americas ranging from the Society of Architectural Historians to Docomomo International / US. Throughout his career Sabatino has focused new light on larger patterns of design discourse and production during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries: his book Pride in Modesty: Modernist Architecture and the Vernacular Tradition in Italy (2011) was translated into Italian and won critical acclaim and multiple awards, including the Society of Architectural Historians' Alice Davis Hitchcock Award. His recent books include Canada: Modern Architectures in History (with Rhodri Windsor Liscombe, 2016), Avant-Garde in the Cornfields: Architecture, Landscape, and Preservation in New Harmony (with Ben Nicholson, 2019), Making Houston Modern: The Life and Architecture of Howard Barnstone (with Barrie Scardino Bradley and Stephen Fox, 2020) and Modern in the Middle: Chicago Houses 1929-1975 (with Susan Benjamin, 2020).

Michele Racioppi

Michele Racioppi is the Program and Communication Manager for Docomomo US. Prior to joining the team in January of 2019, she worked at the New Jersey Historic Trust as a Historic Preservation Specialist, where her responsibilities included managing capital, planning, and heritage tourism grants, organizing the annual statewide conference, and communications. She also moonlighted as the Communications Coordinator for Docomomo US/NY Tri-State, putting together their monthly newsletter. Ms. Racioppi received her MA in Cultural Heritage and Preservation from Rutgers University, where she wrote a paper about Bell Labs and from that point on was hooked. In her spare time, she chairs the local Historical Commission and writes grants to save the National Historic Landmark camp she attended as a child, Eagle Island.

Monica Schaffer

Bob Pullum has been an avid member of the Northern California Chapter of Docomomo US for over 10 years as both a board member and the Vice President. He's led advocacy and marketing efforts through the years at a chapter level such as the development and management of the Docomomo NoCa website: http://www.docomomo-noca.org/, and is currently doing this at a national level with Docomomo US. A freelance Creative Director based in San Francisco, Bob helped grow the San Francisco office of AKQA, an award-winning digital marketing firm, from 40 to over 400. During his long tenure at AKQA, Bob led award-winning digital marketing efforts for such clients as Audi of America, Nike, Kraft, Target and Visa. His unique background extends from international recognition for his art direction for traditional art direction and design to a deep understanding of digital communication and digital product design. His work has been recognized in British Design & Art Direction, Communication Arts, The One Show, The Clios, New York Art Director's Club, the FWA, Mashable, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and the New York Festivals. His prior experience includes the advertising agencies Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Hal Riney & Partners, and Wieden & Kennedy.

Theodore Prudon

Theodore Prudon, FAIA, FAPT is a leading expert on the preservation of modern architecture and a practicing architect in New York City. Dr. Prudon has worked on the terra cotta restoration of the Woolworth Building, the exterior restoration of the Chrysler Building, and of a 1941 Lescaze townhouse in Manhattan. Dr. Prudon teaches preservation at Columbia University and Pratt Institute. He is the recipient of a Graham Foundation Individual grant for his book "Preservation of Modern Architecture". He is the founding President of Docomomo US and a board member of Docomomo International.

Todd Grover

Todd Grover, FAIA is a registered architect in Minnesota and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He has worked full time with MacDonald & Mack Architects since 1997 and became a Principal in 2004. His project experience includes historical research, HABS/ HAER documentation, physical and materials evaluations, as well as typi cal architectural services such as design, construction documents, and construction administration.Todd is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota teaching two courses related to the documentation and conservation of historic resources.

Tonia Moy is the vice president and director of preservation at FAI. She leads all historic and residential projects. Prior to joining FAI in 2004, she served as architectural branch chief for the State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD) and was a trustee at Historic Hawaii Foundation. Her dedication to preservation extends beyond FAI, as she helped establish Docomomo US/Hawaii. Her achievements have been widely recognized within and outside the industry. In 2022, she was awarded the prestigious Frank Haines Lifetime Achievement for her contribution to Hawaii's preservation community. At her leisure, Tonia enjoys travel with her husband, including the Docomomo Brazil trip and other trips to explore architecture, nature and visit family.
