When trees are harvested only intermittently, with minimal interference to the surrounding forest, we are able to protect the forest ecosystem while maintaining continuous cover and protecting biodiversity. This method of selective harvesting is critical to forest management design practices as they do not disrupt the forest ecosystem as a whole. This method is known as Minimum Interference.
