Coffee is grown in many countries in the world. But the origin of coffee can be traced back to Ethiopia. The legend is that a herder named Kaldi from Ethiopia, noticed that his goats were full of energy and did not want to sleep at night after consuming berries from a certain tree. Kaldi tried the berries for himself and had a similar reaction. Thus, Kaldi told the abbot of the local monastery of his findings. The abbot made a drink with the berries and was alert through the long evening prayer. Then the abbot shared this information with the other monks and the knowledge of these energizing berries -coffee- began to spread.
