Founder David Pickard has a passion for helping homeowners enjoy their garage space and improve the value of their home. Growing up with a father in the construction business, David learned the ins and outs of the trade early on. David's father, Bill, was an amazing and talented man, teacher, and mentor. He taught David how to have vision, approach projects, treat customers, act with integrity, and exceed customer expectations. We work to carry on that legacy in how we treat customers and conduct business.

In David's never-ending pursuit to organize himself and improve the quality of his family's life, he tackled the important project of organizing his home and garage. He visited all the big-box stores and just wasn't happy with standard, mass-produced, off-the-shelf imported products. He researched American manufacturers and found Carolina Garage Cabinets, a leading company that creates beautiful garage cabinet systems right here in the United States. David purchased a system, installed it and loved the design and newfound space in his garage.
After experiencing garage organization magic and the feeling of peace that comes with it, David and his wife, Natalie, knew they wanted to share the elegant and durable solutions they found with North Texas homeowners. David and Natalie created Five Star because they believe every homeowner in DFW can benefit from a custom-designed, organized garage. The couple is proud that Five Star is the exclusive dealer of Carolina Garage Cabinets in Dallas-Fort Worth. Carolina manufactures the highest quality and most modern design of durable powder-coated wood cabinets on the market.
David has a Doctor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Florida. While you might meet David in person, Natalie is a vital part of the company, managing the back office and crews for Five Star.
