Current position Ajay Aggarwal is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Trust, London (UK) and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London (UK) in the Institute of Cancer Policy. He is also the Oncology Coordinator for the National Prostate Cancer Audit, based at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has an MSc in the Science of Cancer from The Institute of Cancer Research and an MSc in Health, Population and Society from The London School of Economics. He completed his PhD progam in Health Services Research and Policy at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2017, where he used econometric, geographic and epidemiological research methodologies to explore the role of hospital competition in cancer service delivery.

Eduardo Zubizarreta

Graduated in 1980 from Buenos Aires University, he finished his specialization in Radiation Oncology in 1985. He moved to Uruguay in 1989, to work in Dr. Leborgne's department. He continued his training as fellow in the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University in Saint Louis, with Carlos Perez and Perry Grigsby in 1995.

Julie was a member of the International Secretariat of the Global Task Force in Radiotherapy on Cancer Control (GTFRCC) and contributed to the Lancet Oncology Commission. Julie leads UICCs strategic partnerships with the World Health Organisation, International Agency for Research in Cancer and International Atomic Energy Agency and represents UICC in key international partnerships such as the Global Initiative on Cancer Registration and the International Cancer Control Partnership as well as new global alliances such NCD Alliance, Advanced Breast Cancer Alliance and McCabe Centre for Cancer and Law.

Mei Ling Yap

Mei Ling Yap is a staff specialist radiation oncologist and director of training at Liverpool and Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centres, Sydney, Australia. She holds a conjoint senior lecturer appointment with the University of Western Sydney and University of New South Wales and an adjunct senior lecturer appointment with the University of Sydney. Training From 2007-2012, Mei Ling undertook her radiation oncology speciality training in Australia, Singapore and Canada. Mei Ling is currently undertaking a PhD with the University of NSW, Cancer Council NSW and Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE), exploring the socio-demographic factors which influence radiotherapy utilization in Australia. Mei Ling was a member of the Global Task Force in Radiotherapy on Cancer Control (GTFRCC) and co-author of the Lancet Oncology Commission. Mei Ling is co-chair of the Asia Pacific Radiation Oncology Special Interest Group (APROSIG-RANZCR), which supports LMIC radiotherapy departments in the Asia-Pacific through a bilateral exchange, training and education. She also co-runs GlobalRT, an online platform advocating for equitable access to radiotherapy globally. Mei Ling was selected as a UICC ‘Young Cancer Leader' in 2015.

Richard Sullivan

Richard Sullivan is Professor of Cancer and Global Health at Kings College London, Director of KCL Institute of Cancer Policy (ICP) and Director, KCL Centre for the Study of Conflict & Health. Richard qualified in medicine and trained in surgery (urology), gaining his PhD from University College London. He was clinical director of Cancer Research UK for nearly ten years. He is also former UK Director of the Council for Emerging National Security Affairs. He has led programs for NATO, UN, OSCE and other organisations in global health and post-conflict health reconstruction in many parts of the world. His most recent work has been focused on the basic package of health services in Afghanistan, civil-military co-operation in health in South Sudan, polio eradication and insecurity in Pakistan, and use of health intelligence in high security disease outbreaks. He has worked on over 9 Commissions for the Lancet and Lancet Oncology, including Global Cancer Surgery, and most recently being the Lancet Series on Pathology and Future Cancer Research Priorities in the USA: Lancet Oncology Commission. His research interests include global cancer systems strengthening, particularly around value and affordable cancer care in fragile and conflict-impacted countries, and the use of novel technologies e.g. virtual reality-enhanced surgery to build capacity and capability. Richard is an NCD advisor to the WHO, Save the Children, National Cancer Grid of India and the NCI Centre for Global Health.

Yolande Lievens

Yolande Lievens is the chair of the Radiation Oncology department of the Ghent University Hospital in Belgium and Professor in Radiation Oncology at the Ghent University. She graduated in Medicine at the Leuven University in 1991, and specialised in Radiation Oncology. In 2002 she completed her PhD program, focusing her research on Cost and Economic evaluation of Radiotherapy. Yolande is the President of ESTRO (European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology) and the co-chair of the HERO project (Health Economics in Radiation Oncology), whose overall aim is to develop a knowledge base and a model for health economic evaluation of radiation treatments at the European level. She collaborates with international organisations such as the IAEA, CCORE and UICC, she was a member of the Global Task Force in Radiotherapy on Cancer Control (GTFRCC) and co-author on the Lancet Oncology Commission. And at national level, she collaborates with the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre and the Belgian Cancer Registry.
