Sylvia is President and owner of Lagerquist Accounting & Advisory. In addition to her first-hand knowledge about operating a business, she has extensive experience in accounting and business consulting, frequently serving as an outsourced CFO for her clients. Over the course of her 25-year career, Sylvia has provided critical services to business owners, including:
Financial statement and break-even analysis
Budget and cash flow projections
Accounting system selection, configuration, and installation
Tax planning and return preparation
Compiled and reviewed financial statements
Projections and forecasts
Strategic planning
A graduate of the Catholic University of America, Sylvia also attended Benjamin Franklin University and the University of Maryland. She is an active member of the CPAConnect, the Greater D.C. Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA), the Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants (APCPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Sylvia has a strong commitment to helping local businesses and organizations grow and was one of the founders of ProWESS (Promoting Women Entrepreneurial Success Strategies) in Prince George's County. Sylvia serves on the Board of Advisors for Harris & Harris Wealth Management Group, LLC and also served for four years on the Advisory Committee for CPAConnect, a national association for small, independently owned CPA firms. In addition, Sylvia is an active mentor to emerging entrepreneurs through her work with the Maryland Women's Business Center (MWBC).
In addition, SmartCEO Magazine has repeatedly selected Sylvia Lagerquist as one of the Top CPAs in the Washington DC Region, and she was recognized as a "Star Influencer" at the SmartCEO Centers of Influence awards for being a leading accountant in the Washington DC region.
Lagerquist Accounting & Advisory also is a member of CPAConnect, an affiliate of CPAmerica International, one of the largest CPA networks in the United States. Through this membership, we are able to offer business owners the broad knowledge and access to resources of an international network of CPAs and consultants.
