MERAKI CREATIONS

Meraki means to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself into your work... I put a lot of time and effort into finding a name for my company that would encompass that passion and love that I have for what I do. When I came across Meraki-I just knew that it described how I feel... I started out making signs for friends, then had the opportunity to sell some of my items in a small local artisans shop in Kansas City. While setting up my goods I came across a piece of cedar that was not in "good" shape. It had voids and crevices and was going into the trash pile. I salvaged this piece of Cedar, not knowing what I was going to do with it; but, it called to me. I did a lot of research on google and got caught up in the fascination of Instagram and how people were putting in epoxy to fill these voids. That cedar is now in my livingroom as a sofa table and is my first pride and joy.
