The assault on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 was not an abberation, it is a harbinger of where the far right is going. If we are to successfully defend the brilliant 232 year old US Constitution it will take far more committment than we have ever been called upon to give. Trump has never won a majority in any national election. We need to defeat him again, and send his weekend warriors back to playing with guns, pretending to be soldiers. Trump is American democracy's greatest enemy and we are its most important defenders. If we are to remain a democracy he must be resoundingly defeated at the ballot.
