Alex Monteith

Alex Monteith is a native Texan who moved to Galveston in 2003 from Dallas. He graduated from Ball High School in Galveston as well as St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Returning to Galveston in 2010, he also works at Insurance Junction as an insurance agent. Alex has a clear understanding of coastal insurance for buyers and sellers as well as new construction, historic homes, and vacation rentals. In 2014 Alex earned his Texas real estate license. Alex is a member of Galveston Association of REALTORS®, Houston Association of REALTORS®, Texas Association of REALTORS®, and National Association of REALTORS®.

Brian Kuhn

Brian has worked with buyers and sellers in the area since 2011. Early in his career he forged a strong relationship broker Tom Schwenk. While attending graduate school at Texas A&M and in between shipping gigs in the merchant marine, Brian worked as Tom's assistant and Tom has been an excellent mentor to Brian over the years and they have closed dozens of transactions together. Outside of real estate, Brian stays busy with his involvement with the Galveston Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches. In 2018, along with his brother, he founded the La Izquierda Surf & Music Festival which has grown in popularity over the last 2 years and become a calendar event for Galveston. He also serves on the Galveston Association of Realtors MLS committee. Brian is married to local architect, Cate Black. They have a beautiful daughter, Finley Rose (aka Single Fin). Brian loves living in Galveston and has been working with buyers and sellers in the area since 2011. While Brian enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for architectural detail and knowledge of market trends, his clients appreciate his responsiveness and knowledge of the transaction process.

Brian Schwenk

Brian Schwenk was born in New York and has lived in many states in the US. He has studied internationally at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China where his focus was business and language, and in Zaragoza, Spain where he became fluent in Spanish. He has a Certificate in Construction Management from the Construction Management Association of America and is a licensed REALTOR® in the state of Texas. Brian obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management and Environmental Sustainability from Philadelphia University. While in college he interned one summer with Galveston Historical Foundation and his interest in historic homes became personal when he rehabilitated an 1886 raised cottage on Galveston's 19th Street which was also his first foray into home ownership. He began his project management career in 2016 at Vaughn Construction in Galveston and Houston on large scale commercial projects before moving to Austin, where he joined The Burt Group, and later Cumby Group, a real estate development firm with a focus on multi-family projects. Brian likes helping people realize their property dreams and is looking forward to working with clients and local contractors. He loves the Galveston Island lifestyle because it combines the best aspects of living in a small coastal city with the fine dining, shopping, and cultural attractions of a big city.

Carole Bell

Carole has made Galveston her lifelong home and loves sharing all the wonderful features of the island with customers. She graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch with a BS in Health Care Administration. After a fulfilling career in Finance at UTMB she retired but knew that she wanted to continue working. She worked for more than 30 years at UTMB and had focused on budgets, contracts, compliance and customer service training. Carole knew she still wanted to do more and began a second career in real estate promoting all that Galveston and the nearby areas have to offer. Customers are Carole's main focus, and she strives to ensure that all parties are well-informed and have a clear understanding throughout all phases of the real estate process when buying or selling their home. Ongoing communication and exceptional client satisfaction are key. Being Born on Island (BOI), she has an insight to the many unique areas of Galveston Island. Carole has used her financial background in serving as Treasurer for several organizations, most notably The Junior League of Galveston County and the Board of Trustees for Trinity Episcopal School. She is also a regular volunteer for the 1894 Grand Opera House and The Friends of the Rosenberg Library Annual Book Sale. Along with her husband and two sons, Carole enjoys all that the island has to offer. She spends her spare time bike riding, paddle boarding, playing golf, cooking and reading. Travel is also a hobby she and her husband enjoy as often as possible. After a fulfilling career in Finance, she retired but still wanted to do more. So began her second career in real estate - promoting all that Galveston and the areas have to offer. Carole has used her financial background in serving as Treasurer for several organizations. Doreen Hughes

After a successful business career at Dell in Austin, Doreen moved to Galveston County in 2008 and currently holds membership in the Houston Association and National Association of REALTORS®. She is active in her community, and is a social columnist with the Galveston Daily News. 


Joe Schwenk - COO

Job Titles:
  • Director of Operations
Joe retired from UPS in 2000, moved to Chicago and worked as Director of Operations in the construction industry. Joe and his family moved to Galveston in 2015 to work with his brother Tom.

John M. Schreiber

John M. Schreiber is a native Galvestonian who was born on the island (BOI). He retired with over 30 years with the Prudential Insurance Company, and is now an active REALTOR providing sales and service to the people of Galveston County

Keaton Bates

Keaton was born on Galveston Island and grew up in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He returned to the Island in 2021 and is enjoying finding his place in the community. Keaton is passionate about helping minorities on a path to homeownership as a way of building generational wealth. 


Mickey Matthews-Conrad

Mickey Matthews-Conrad was born and raised in Texas and is proud to be a 5 th generation Texan. A very experienced realtor, she has worked in the industry for more than 30 years helping people to realize their real estate dreams. Mickey has been a realtor with Coldwell Banker for more than 25 years and has earned many accolades with the company. She is member of the Coldwell Banker Sterling Society and the Coldwell Banker Bronze Society as well as an International Presidents Circle member. It was in Santa Monica, California that Mickey first became involved in real estate specializing in the Marina Del Rey and Venice areas where she was a director for the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) board for that region. She is a member of the Houston Association of Realtors and the Southwest Louisiana Association of Realtors. Mickey holds a broker license in Louisiana, was a realtor in Arizona and is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute.

Reid Nelson

Reid is a native Galvestonian who, after successful careers in law and insurance, returned to Galveston in 2017 to get back to his roots. His clients benefit from his legal and insurance expertise as well as his true love of this town.

Robert Zahn

Robert has over fifteen years of working in the Historical Homes market of Galveston, which is the perfect background to help you find the right house easily and with minimal effort. He has have been active in the restoration of his own Victorian era houses, and was actively involved in laying the groundwork for the formation of the San Jacinto Historical Conservation District. Robert is immediate past Chair of the Galveston Association of Realtors, and has held numerous other leadership seats on local Committees and Boards.

Shannon Caldwell - CMO

Originally from New Zealand, Shannon is an award-winning public relations and marketing expert. She first came to Galveston in 2011 where one of the first people she met was Tom Schwenk, who was the leasing agent on the historic home she rented with her family.
