LOOKING GLASS

The Looking Glass is a student-produced digital magazine that enriches the Southern Vermont College campus community through curated and original content, always designed to inform, entertain, inspire, or reflect... Students enrolled in a first-year service-learning course (Quest for Success) launched this publication spring 2013 as The Mountaineer Times. The following year, The Mountaineer Times became a campus club. To foster the publication's sustainability, faculty in the Division of Humanities provided an experimental course that was open to all Southern Vermont College students, spring 2015. Relaunched as The Looking Glass, the publication is now produced through a permanent course, CM320: Journalism Production. Summer 2015, The Looking Glass began collaborating with Catamount Access Television to learn the arts of video production. Most recently, the publication was awarded a grant from the Edwin S. Webster Foundation to further foster student success at Southern Vermont..
