Cristiani Vieira Machado is a physician, researcher and lecturer at the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health at Fiocruz. Glenda is coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the British Hospital of Buenos Aires. Hugo, MD, PhD, is a researcher at the National Institute of Neurological Sciences, Director of the Center for Global Health at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) and Adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (JHSPH) in Baltimore.
Dr. Garcia received his medical degree from UPCH and his PhD from JHSPH. He is an internationally renowned expert on parasitic infections of the nervous system, and has multiple first author articles in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet and Neurology. He has also edited four books on cysticercosis and parasitic infections of the nervous system, and has written numerous reviews and textbook chapters on this topic.
Dr. Garcia coordinates the Cysticercosis Working Group in Peru, a highly productive group that has worked together over a period of 20 years in research and capacity building in Peru.

Jackie is a Parasitologist working in the Department of Clinical Laboratory at University Hospital in Tegucigalpa, the main public health hospital in Honduras, as well as a faculty member in the Research Unit of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) in New Orleans, and a board member of the Instituto de EnfermedadesInfecciosas y Parasitologia Antonio Vidal-a non-profit organization devoted to training, advising, and conducting research in the field of infectious diseases. In addition to being a scientist and teacher, Jackie is strongly committed to making sustainable health research a national priority and to strengthen the capacity for research and innovation in Honduras. Laís Araujo is a Social Worker, graduated in Social Work (UFRJ - Brazil), specialist in Social Service and Health (UERJ - Brazil), master and doctoral candidate in Social Work (PUC Rio - Brazil). He has experience in the area of mathematical and computational modeling in epidemiology, metapopulation models and dynamic systems. María Alejandra is a clinical endocrinologist. She currently works as head of service and is responsible for the Inter-institutional Operations Unit at the Hospital Escuela, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, coordinating inter-institutional projects. She combines her clinical and patient care duties with teaching and research activities with different initiatives at local and regional level. She is also involved in mentoring internal medicine fellows and health research professionals and as co-investigator of the Global Health Consortium at Florida State University, USA, and its liaison in Honduras.
Mercedes is a medical doctor from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina, where she has assisted in the conduction of Prenatal Stress research, within the Perinatal Neurodevelopmental Programming Laboratory. Her motivation lies in discovering and helping advance medicine, for which she has worked in Infectious Diseases Prevention projects in Kenya and Colombia. To facilitate and strengthen research across LMICs, within The Global Health Network LAC, Mercedes establishes partnerships with research groups, organizes workshops, and supports learning initiatives in different Universities and health centers.

Roxana has served at NAMRU-6 for more than 30 years and in the role of Director of Research Administration since 2005. Her experience spans from IRB member training to program oversight and monitoring, assisting the institution and other institutions in Peru in the development of their institutional policies and educational programs in areas of human subject's protection, scientific integrity and care and use of animals. Roxana participated as an NIH grant reviewer and is a frequent lecturer at master's programs and professional associations in the topics of human subject protection and research integrity, in Peru and in other countries in Latin America. Roxana graduated as an attorney and has completed a Masters in Bioethics and a Masters in Epidemiological Research.

Saúl Lira Albarrán completed his bachelor's degree in medicine and a master's degree in Clinical Research at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. He is a medical geneticist and earned a Doctor of Science (Biomedical) degree with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He was a fellow of the Latin American Program for Sexual and Reproductive Health. During his first postdoctoral stay at the Center for Reproductive Sciences, University of California, San Francisco (2019 - 2021), he was a UC MEXUS-CONACYT fellow. He pursued a second postdoctoral position at the Institute for Obesity Research, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico (2022 - 2023). He also served as a Medical Sciences Researcher in the Department of Reproductive Biology at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, Mexico (2013 - 2019).
