Gareth Vaughan

Gareth joined the firm in November 2016. Gareth started his career with KPMG, a Big 4 global accountancy firm, based in London. Within the first 3 years at KPMG, Gareth completed his accountancy examinations qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). During this time, Gareth managed audit engagements within the investment management and private equity industry, providing accounting advice, valuation and assurance reviews. As well as developing accounting expertise, Gareth acquired practical experience within both the tax and corporate finance functions; most notably, working on a successful 1 billion acquisition from a well-known UK bank. Gareth moved into the Management Consulting function to advise UK-based companies and FTSE 100s on the efficient operations of a Finance function, selecting and contracting with outsource providers, managing transitions and holding third parties to account. Gareth brings a wide range of financial knowledge and experience to advise on both tax and accounting matters and resolve business issues. His clients range from sole traders and individuals to companies with a multi-million pound turnover. Gareth has a professional, pragmatic and client-focused approach and his main aim is to pro-actively deal with issues and identify opportunities for his clients. His experience also extends to business case development, financial planning and management reporting. In terms of personal skills, he has delivered training courses to past leaders and colleagues, mentored and managed individuals and developed client propositions. Away from the office, he enjoys most sports and is a particularly keen golfer (played for his University golf team - Nottingham) and likes to indulge his inner explorer when the opportunity arises.

Glen Vaughan

Glen Vaughan formed Vaughan & Associates in August 2002. Glen started his tax career with the Inland Revenue in 1975. He was given substantial training in tax matters and passed the first part of his tax examinations with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). After his training with the Revenue, Glen left to join the profession, where he worked for various Top 10 and Top 20 City Firms. He also took his final tax examinations and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). He gained substantial experience across a wide range of taxation covering Personal Tax, Capital gains tax, Inheritance tax, Corporation Tax, International Tax and UK and Overseas Trusts. The vast proportion of his tax experience was gained with Crowe Clark Whitehill, a Top Ten Firm, who he was with for 17 and a half years. Prior to that he was at Baker Tilly for six and a half years.
