My career began in clinical medicine before taking a side-step into instructional design and learning strategy full-time. A firm believer in the benefits of volunteering, community and lifelong learning, I've also picked up a long list of sideline experiences along the way - from administering justice as a magistrate (lay judge) on the UK's busiest bench, to holding space for people to find their own big answers as a spiritual life coach. I also love completing online courses myself and have enjoyed learning about all sorts of topics. Combining this knowledge with my varied skills and experiences gives me a unique perspective from which to understand what learners want and how to give it to them... Pragmatically Creative - There's definitely a place for unfettered creativity but it's rarely learning design. Good design is creativity within rules and limits (budget, time, scope, etc.): much more challenging but much more rewarding... Instructional designer, e-learning developer,..
