BREATHING SPACE

Breathing space was founded in 2019 to increase access at venues to people with autism... Historically, venues, large and small have made concessions for people with physical disabilities and sensory disabilities. However, through our work with project 73 and other groups that work with people who have ASD, it has become clear that whilst most people on the spectrum enjoy music, a tiny minority have ever been to a live concert or rarely if ever attend other arts venues... Many people with autism do not go to live events or venues without family or support as they do not feel venues are able to cope should they need support or just need 5 mins out. Breathing space gives venues advice and training on supporting people to access venues
