Chantal Graveline

Chantal Graveline, PhD is an award-winning healthcare executive who is known to empower and inspire staff to achieve excellence. With 30 years of progressive leadership experience across the healthcare continuum for local, national and global organizations, she has led accreditation efforts, developed performance accountability frameworks, created internationally recognized clinical programs, and led successful funding and strategic partnership initiatives. Dr. Graveline has dedicated her career to bridging clinical and community practice with academic and scholarly activities. She has pioneered new academic and practitioners roles supporting the translation of research into practice. Her own research in the fields of cell biology, neurophysiology and epilepsy surgery in pediatric populations is to this day cited as ground breaking. She has supported the development of graduate works in rehabilitation and is the driving force behind the scholarly vision and mandate of CHS Global Partnerships for Research & Innovation. Dr. Graveline leads by example and continues to be a passionate, lifelong learner. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Western University, a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Montreal, a Master of Science in Cell Biology and a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Toronto. She has held executive and leadership roles at organizations in the hospital, community care and home care sectors including Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, Baycrest Geriatric Health Care System, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, COTA Health and the Hospital for Sick Children.

Donald Barnes is a retired senior executive with domestic and international experience. An accomplished change leader in complex environments, he has broad management and leadership experience, having occupied various senior executive positions over the last 30 years, notably in the fields of services management, organizational transformation, and business strategy. He has worked in the not-for-profit, private, and public sectors, and has been an advocate for equity and inclusion over the course of his career. From Memorial University of Newfoundland, Mr. Barnes holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. From 2020 to 2021, he served as a Board Member on the Canadian Hearing Services Board of Directors.

Donna Bain

Donna Bain, PhD brings experience in planning, leading and evaluating improvements in health, rehabilitation, and disability management services to the RIAC. As CEO of Donna Bain & Associates Inc., she provides strategic consulting and operational design services to organizations across Canada to enhance their disability management outcomes. She contributed her expertise to the Canadian Standards Association Technical Committee in the development of the Work Disability Management Systems Standard published in 2020. As a former Vice-President, Health Services at Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, she is respected by Ontario's health provider community for her leadership of innovation in service delivery and collaborative approach to the introduction of evidence-based care programs. With a commitment to design that considers diversity in all of its expressions, she is a graduate instructor at OCAD University in Toronto where she teaches Inclusive Design. Her research publications include topics such as concussion treatment and opioid use. She holds an M.S.W. and a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

Dr. Joanna E. Cannon

Dr. Joanna E. Cannon is a Professor in the Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education department at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Cannon has 9 years' experience as an itinerant and resource teacher of deaf and hard of hearing students and is the parent of a deaf adult with disabilities. She serves as the coordinator of the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing graduate program and her areas of research include supporting students who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing with disabilities and those whose families who are newcomers to Canada.

Fran Copelli (she/they) is the Research Administrative Assistant for CHS Global Partnerships for Research & Innovation. Fran provides administrative and logistical support for CHS Global Partnerships grants and the CHS scholarship program. Prior to joining CHS, Fran worked in several research administration roles, including lab manager of the SMART (Science of Music, Auditory Research, and Technology) Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University, project manager for SingWell Canada (a multi-million dollar SSHRC-funded research project exploring the effects of singing on biopsychosocial well-being), research operations assistant for the Psychology Department at Toronto Metropolitan University, and most recently, research administrator for the Institute for Work & Health.

Steve J. Aiken

Steve J. Aiken, PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Communication Disorders and Sciences in the Departments of Surgery, Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. He has an M.Sc. in Audiology from the University of Western Ontario and a PhD in Medical Science from the University of Toronto. He has practiced as a clinical audiologist and as an in-house audiologist in the hearing industry. He is a past-president of the Canadian Academy of Audiology, associate editor of Canadian Audiologist, co-director of the Canadian Hearing and Auditory Research Translation Group, and a member of the Canadian Infant Task Force, the Knowledge in Pediatric Audiology Group, the Hearing Health Alliance of Canada, and the Canadian Coalition for Adult Hearing Health. His research focuses on the assessment of peripheral and central auditory function using electrophysiological measures, measures of noise-induced hearing damage in humans and the use of speech-evoked electrophysiological responses for hearing aid verification.

Susan Scollie

Susan Scollie, PhD is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Director of the National Centre for Audiology, University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. With colleagues, she developed version 5.0 of the DSL Method for hearing aid fitting, now a worldwide standard for pediatric hearing aid prescription. Her current research focuses on the efficacy of hearing aid signal processing, outcomes for infants, children, and adults who use hearing aids, and simulation in education.

Timothy Andradé completed both his B.A. (Honours, Psychology) and M. Ed (Counselling) at the University of Ottawa. His subsequent professional career included 14 years working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, and then as the Disabilities Awareness Program Coordinator and Trainer at the Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre for 12 years prior to his retirement. He was a friend of Canadian Hearing Services Ottawa for many years and a strong advocate to reduce barriers in health care settings. He was welcomed to the Canadian Hearing Services Board in 2012 and then appointed to the role of Board Chair from 2014-2019 and Vice Chair from 2019-2022.
