From there a job on a feeder calf operation with 600-700 calves that we managed annually, taught me many lessons and provided many experiences to learn the cattle business. More recently, managing a cattle operation of Registered Angus, Simmental, and SimAngus seed stock as well as commercial females taught me the operational side of the cattle business and the inputs, both capital and variable expenses that goes into a successful operation. Working with industry leaders in both seed stock and commercial operations have taught me a lot about how to market cattle effectively to maximize the return on every animal.
