Dr. Jaryd Freedman

Jaryd Freedman, M.D. joined Dermatology of Philadelphia in 2022 at our Marlton, NJ location. He is a board-certified dermatologist practicing general and complex medical dermatology. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Freedman attended Temple University for medical school and completed his residency training in dermatology at Drexel University. After finishing training, Dr. Freedman spent six years practicing in the prestigious Kaiser Permanente health system in California. He is now glad to be back home serving the community in which he was raised. Dr. Freedman practices both surgical and complex medical dermatology. Patient education is at the heart of his practice, which allows for the doctor and patient to construct the best personalized treatment plan. Dr. Freedman enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He is an avid runner, cyclist, swimmer, and even picked up surfing during his time in California.

Dr. Mark Abdelmalek, a nationally recognized fellowship-trained and board-certified Mohs Surgeon and member of the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery, now conveniently offers Mohs Surgery for South Jersey and shore residents. Dr. Mark Abdelmalek is a highly regarded skin cancer surgeon and ABC News reporter. He is dual board certified in Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery and Dermatology. He is the founder of Dermatology of Philadelphia | Mohs Surgery Center which opened in Philadelphia in 2020. As a board-certified and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, Dr. Mark specializes in the precise surgical removal of skin cancer with expert reconstruction. Dr. Mark is an adjunct Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He spent more than a decade in academic medicine culminating as the Interim Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Drexel University. While at the forefront of academic medicine in Philadelphia, he partnered with premier faculty to train a generation of excellent dermatologists and conduct clinical research. Dr. Abdelmalek's clinical interests are caring for high-risk skin cancer patients and comprehensive skin care for organ transplant patients. Dr. Mark is also an award-winning medical and investigative reporter at ABC News. As a frontline medical journalist, Dr. Mark plays an integral role in ABC News' medical coverage. For more than a decade, he has worked alongside ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer sharing important stories of our time with television audiences of Good Morning America, ABC World News, 20/20, and Nightline. In 2016, Dr. Mark received an Alfred I. duPont Columbia Award, one of the most prestigious honors in journalism, widely regarded as the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize for broadcast news. Dr. Mark has been nominated for a Peabody Award and five Emmy awards, including Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story for a COVID news special, and an ABC News Hidden America special on hard working Americans struggling to stay in the middle class. In 2016, Dr. Mark was honored by his peers with the prestigious Philadelphia Dermatological Society ‘Founders Award' for "devoting extraordinary time and talent as a teacher and clinician". He has also been recognized by Castle Connolly and Philadelphia magazine as one of Philadelphia's "Top Doctors" and "Rising Stars in Medicine."

Dr. Shoshana Grossman

Dr. Shoshana Grossman joined Dermatology of Philadelphia in August 2021. Dr. Grossman is a board certified dermatologist and practices general, complex medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Grossman graduated Cum Laude from the Macaulay Honors College at Queens College of the City University of New York with a B.A. in both Neuroscience and Psychology. She then attended the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where she graduated with distinction and was awarded the 2017 Excellence in Dermatology award. Dr. Grossman subsequently completed her dermatology residency at Temple University Hospital, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Outside of the office, Dr. Grossman enjoys spending time with her husband and her two sons.

Dr. Trisha S. Dasgupta

Trisha S. Dasgupta, M.D. joined Dermatology of Philadelphia in 2021. She is a board certified dermatologist practicing general and complex medical dermatology. Dr. Dasgupta graduated cum laude with an A.B. in Government from Harvard College, where she was also a recipient of the Dunster Shield Award. She later obtained her M.D. from Jefferson Medical College, graduating magna cum laude. While at Jefferson, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, George McClellan Surgical Honor Society, and Hobart Amory Hare Medical Honor Society. Dr. Dasgupta completed her residency in dermatology at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. During her residency training, she also served as Co-Chairperson of the Resident Committee for the 2015 Atlantic Dermatological Conference, as a Representative to the Social Media Task Force of the Women's Dermatological Society, and as a Resident Contributor to the American Academy of Dermatology's Dialogues in Dermatology. She also received the Johnson-Beerman Award by the Section on Dermatology of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Dr. Dasgupta is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Having previously provided dermatologic care in the Philadelphia suburbs, she is excited to return to Center City. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.
