With the program's launch, Durham Region is intensifying efforts toward its low carbon pathway outlined in the existing Durham Community Energy Plan, which calls for nearly all the 200,000 homes in the Region to undergo deep energy retrofits by 2050. While Durham Greener Homes is a step in the right direction to engage Durham homeowners in climate action by retrofitting their homes, the program makes this easier by taking some of the stress off homeowners in the home energy retrofit journey. We are collaborating with expert energy advisors, local lending institutions, and energy utilities to help simplify the process while transforming the market for residential energy efficiency...
