In 2001, I began my career as an RN. Like many other newly graduated RN's, I started my career at my local hospital. While working there, I specialized in Labor/Delivery. I absolutely loved my job! About 4 years into working there, I gave birth to my second child. The demands of taking care of my home and my children, as well as the one hour drive each way to work, became too much. Did I mention I was working 12 hour night shifts? I made the decision to put my career on hold for a little while until my children got a little older. During this time, I had my third child. I was enjoying my life as a stay-at-home mom, but there was a burning desire to return to my career in nursing... The day came when I received a phone call with a job offer. My best friend had given my name to a hospice agency that she worked with and they were asking me to come work for them. Now mind you, the entire time I was in nursing school, I always said, "I will never work in hospice or in a nursing home." But..
