Dr. Khattab is the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology and a graduate faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He started his appointment with UL Lafayette in January 2007. Dr. Khattab was awarded the Lee and Ken Matherne/BORSF Professorship in Engineering from 2010 till 2022 . In 2012, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award, College of Engineering, UL Lafayette. In 2014, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Faculty for Student Outreach Award, College of Engineering, UL Lafayette. Dr. Khattab has established, and is the director of the Laboratory for Composite Materials (LCM) at UL Lafayette which leads inter-disciplinary research in various fields where composite materials have critical applications. Dr. Khattab has been involved for over 25 years in Teaching, Research and Development (R&D). During which he worked on design and construction of prototypes for automated machines by reverse engineering method. He has over 19 years of experience in the fields of advanced materials processing, high-temperature polymer composites and processing and characterization of nanoparticles reinforced polymer composites. Dr. Khattab's research addresses a major thrust in materials research as well as a critical need in manufacturing of high-performance advanced composite materials. His research focuses on understanding the fundamental knowledge of the processing-structure-performance relationships of composite materials which is required in order to tailor material properties to meet the needs of a specific application.

Ms. Molly keeps the ITEC Department running smoothly. She is Administrative Assistant to the Department Head, but she is much more to the faculty and students as well. If you have a problem, Ms. Molly usually has the answer and is more than happy to help you.
Areas of Specialization:
Mr. Vanderlick works with the Composite Materials Laboratory, headed by Dr. Khattab offering design, machining components and molds necessary for composite material research. Mr. Vanderlick is also a teaching assistant for both Engineering Technology as well as the Department of Mechanical Engineering, leading lab instruction in Fluid Power Systems, Basic Construction and CNC Programming and Machining. In summer, 2014, Mr. Vanderlick worked on UL Lafayette's first Engineering Summer Program for International Students. Student's from Saudi Arabia designed and built a skate board out of composite materials.
Mr. Vanderlick is also the Departmental Safety Coordinator for ENGT.

is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology. He has 17 years teaching and consulting experience in areas relating to industrial engineering technology (classic IE & MFG.). Areas of interest relate to manufacturing productivity and the design of new courses to advance manufacturing in Louisiana. Mr. Mueller has recently developed a course on materials management and and production scheduling and is currently working on a text outline on manufacturing facilities design that more accurately reflects the typical on-the-job activities than can be found in books currently.
