The EUTR (European Union Timber Regulation) is a law that prohibits the buying and selling of illegally harvested timber in the European market. This regulation was introduced to discourage deforestation and protect tree species which are significantly at risk. At the moment, this law is in effect in all countries in the EU and EEA (Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein). As of current, the EUTR covers a specific list of hardwood and timber-based products.
