Benjamin D. Kuhns

Dr. Kuhns was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the northern suburbs. He spent his undergraduate years at Colgate University where he majored in chemistry with a minor in history. He then returned to Chicago where he received a master's degree in Neuroscience from Northwestern before attending medical school in Cleveland, Ohio at Case Western Reserve University school of medicine. He developed an interest in hip preservation surgery in medical school and graduated with a distinction in research after being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He continued to develop his passion for hip pathology while in orthopedic residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, winning the Kenneth Dehaven Research Award for his research linking femoroacetabular impingement to hip osteoarthritis. He then spent one year of fellowship in adult hip preservation and reconstruction at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic under the mentorship of Drs. Philippon and Matta. He completed his final year of training in advanced hip preservation at the American Hip Institute. He is the author of over 40 articles and book chapters related to the treatment of hip dysfunction. Dr. Kuhns is dedicated to the comprehensive management of adult hip pain. This includes non-operative strategies such as hip specific physical therapy, medication management, and intra or extra-articular injections. From a surgical perspective, he specializes in complex primary and revision hip arthroscopy, open hip preservation including periacetabular and proximal femoral osteotomies, as well as robotic anterior approach total hip arthroplasty. His focus is working together with patients to identify a customized treatment strategy designed to optimize their return to function and the activities they enjoy regardless of their age. Dr. Benjamin Domb

Dr. Benjamin Domb is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Hip Arthroscopy. He graduated with honors from Princeton University, and was at the top of his class at John Hopkins School of Medicine, the #1 medical school in the country. He has been rated amongst the Top Doctors in the USA by the NY Times, US News & World Report, and Castle Connelly. He is the founder and Chair of the American Hip Institute Research Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, innovating, and improving the minimally invasive treatment of hip injuries. Dr. David Burt

Dr. David Burt is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska where he was born and raised. He is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University where he played Division III basketball. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical School and completed his Orthopaedic surgical training at the University of Texas in San Antonio. While there, he trained under both Dr. Jesse Delee, renowned sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon, and Dr. Charles Rockwood, a world pioneer in the development of Shoulder Replacement surgery. He also assisted in sports medicine care for the University of Texas football. Dr. Burt completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at the world-famous American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was involved with the sports medicine care for Auburn University, NFL Europe, Major League Soccer, Birmingham Arena football, and area high schools. Dr. Burt established the Midwest Sports Medicine Institute to raise the bar for sports medicine care in the Chicago area from his offices in Burr Ridge, Plainfield, and Morris, Illinois. Dr. Burt is able to treat countless number of athletes of all ages and levels of competition. He serves as official team physician for Plainfield North High School, Plainfield South High School, and Joliet Buccaneers, and works with several local schools and club teams to provide fast and efficient recovery for injured athletes. Dr. Burt also provides care to workers' compensation patients.

Dr. Lowell Weil Jr

A passion for podiatry runs deep in the Weil family. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Lowell Weil Jr. grew up watching his father, Lowell Sr., work as a podiatrist in local hospitals and as the Team Podiatrist for the Chicago Bears. So it was no surprise that he attended the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago for his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine after graduating from Vanderbilt University. Armed with an additional Masters in Business Administration, today he is not only a Podiatrist but also CEO for WFAI, where he makes use of both his podiatric expertise and his business training to provide the best environment for patients, team members, and physicians for the highest level of care. In addition to being trained in the latest surgical techniques, Dr. Weil Jr. embodies the ethic of care that makes WFAI special. He believes that every patient's story deserves to be heard. He enjoys forming relationships with his patients and working together to make them well. Outside of work, Dr. Weil Jr. enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
