GOFORTH FOREST MANAGEMENT - Key Persons
JASON GOFORTH has 23 years of experience in consulting forestry and 16 of those years as a registered forester. He began his career in forest management in 1993 working as a forestry field technician for JMV. He has a Bachelors Degree in Forest Management from Mississippi State University. After graduating college he worked as a procurement forester for an Alabama based company for two years. Jason then joined Ricky and his brother Ryan in forming Goforth Forest Management. Jason is a registered forester in Mississippi and Alabama. He has also served as former board member and President of the Lauderdale County Forestry Association.
has 42 years of experience as a registered forester. He began his career in forest management with James M. Vardaman & Co. in 1973 and became a Registered Forester in 1977. JMV was a private landowner forest management company which was based in Jackson, Mississippi and was the largest private forestry consulting firm in the southeast. Soon after joining JMV, Ricky was promoted to branch manager in the Meridian, Mississippi office. During his 28 years there he became the district manager for the Meridian District and vice-president of the company.
In 2001 Ricky purchased the Meridian District from JMV & Co. His sons Jason and Ryan joined him in forming Goforth Forest Management, Inc. Ricky's many years as a professional forester provides landowners with a wealth of knowledge about, sound forestry practices and the ability to implement those practices. He also maintains a license as a Real Estate Broker in Mississippi and Alabama and is a member of the National Association of Realtors. He has also served as a former board member and President of the Lauderdale County Forestry Association.
RYAN GOFORTH has 15 years of experience in consulting forestry. He began his career in forest management in 1995 working as a forestry field technician for JMV. He earned an Associates Degree in Forestry from East Mississippi Community College in 1997. After graduating from college Ryan worked as a procurement forester for a short time before joining Ricky and brother Jason in forming Goforth Forest Management.
Ryan serves as the Cheif field forester for GFMI and coordinates all field work such as timber inventories, harvest planning, management prescriptions and timber sale preparation. His experience in the field is an irreplaceable asset to the company.
