Matt Sugg began his career at PRG Real Estate in Richmond, Virginia in 2007. In his seven years at PRG, Matt held a number of on-site roles including Leasing Specialist, Business Manager, Marketing Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Property Manager, Senior Property Manager, and Regional Field Trainer. In 2014, Matt transitioned to Portfolio Manager for The Franklin Johnston Group where he was responsible for a number of new acquisitions and third-party management takeovers in the Richmond and Hampton Roads markets. Matt later joined Greystar as a Regional Director, where he focused on new construction lease-ups and business development throughout several different markets in Virginia. ​ Matt rejoined PRG in 2018 to lead operations for new developments and acquisitions in Richmond, Virginia. He successfully orchestrated and executed eight new lease-ups, one new acquisition, and assisted with three new developments in the pipeline. Throughout his career, he managed over 10,000 units valued at over $2 billion, including the following asset classes: Conventional Value-Add, Tax Credit, VHDA, Senior Living, and Luxury Class A Lease-ups. He completed several high profile interior renovation projects, and hundreds of capital expenditure projects in excess of $200 million. Matt received his B.S. in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech. He earned the CPM, CAPS, and CAM credentials*. Matt held several leadership positions within the local and state apartment associations, including CVAA,VAMA, IREM, and the Urban Land Institute. He was also a Board Member on the Innsbrook Foundation. Matt and his teams have won numerous multifamily industry awards and he was a recipient of the Virginia Apartment Management Association's Corporate Professional of the Year Award in 2019, 2021, and 2024.
