Jute is produced in many countries. India & Bangladesh being the largest producers. China, Thailand, Myanmar & Nepal are other jute producing countries... Jute is a natural fiber extracted from the bark of a plant which is second most important fiber after cotton. "Jute" is the name of the plant or fiber used to make burlap, hessian or gunny cloth. Jute is one of the most affordable natural fibres the fiber is collected from the bast or skin of the plant. There are two main types of jute, white jute (corchorus capsularies) and dark jute (corchorus olitorius) but the primary source of the fiber is corchorus olitorius, though it is considered inferior to corchorus capsularis. Jute are grown in India, Bangladesh, Thailand, China, south Asian countries and Brazil--India and Bangladesh being the two largest producers. Jute fiber is long, soft and shiny because of its shinny and golden color jute fiber is also called Golden Fiber.
