Georgina Bell-Scott

Georgina is a qualified Solicitor of England & Wales and Registered as a Legal Practitioner in the Isle of Man. Her original practice, over 10 years ago, focused principally on commercial contract and trust matters as in-house legal with SMP Partners (now Sunterra), where she remained for over 5 years. In 2015, she made a move into e-gaming as a Senior legal officer, principally advising the 188BET brand until 2022. Her practice areas include the drafting and review of commercial contracts across all aspects of client operations. This includes agreements for licensing of software (including sports data and casino games), payment service providers and sponsorship agreements/arrangements. Georgina also has significant experience in resolving Domain Name Disputes through the ICANN UDRP process, with multiple successful complaints before WIPO's arbitration panel. Georgina is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales, and the Society of Computers & the Law. She is currently studying Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on machine learning, which assists some of Kosnahan's clients involved in the interrogation of complex data sets, including sports data. Georgina holds a degree in law from Manchester Metropolitan University, England. She completed the Legal Practice Course with the College of Law in Chester, England. Georgina assists with all aspects of practice at Kosnahan Law.

Jason Kelly - Managing Director

Jason is a qualified Solicitor of England & Wales and a Registered Legal Practitioner in the Isle of Man. He has practiced law in the Isle of Man for more than 15 years, both in house and in private practice at senior and executive levels. In the last 10 years, he has advised on technology and e-gaming law, principally acting for software developers and B2C online sportsbook and casinos. In 2004, Jason's original practice in the Isle of Man focused on complex trust and estate disputes, including forensic tracing of assets. He acted for settlors and beneficiaries during investigations by the SEC and DOJ into a series of trusts in the Isle of Man, as well as acting for settlors subject to investigation by HMRC and the Irish Revenue. In the last 10 years Jason's practice area has exclusively focused on Internet and Technology law primarily for businesses incorporated in the Isle of Man. This includes senior positions held with UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (IOMGSC) Regulated e-gaming companies. From 2010-2013, Jason led the compliance department at Microgaming Software Systems Limited (Microgaming) from their head office in the Isle of Man. He then moved back into private practice in the Isle of Man where he continued to advise Microgaming, amongst others. In 2014, he was approached to Head the Legal & Compliance team for Annatar and Cube, where he remained until 2021, when he decided to set up Kosnahan Law. In 2014, Jason co-founded the Manx Digital Currency Association and became its Vice Chairman. At the time, the MDCA lobbied government in the Isle of Man to introduce appropriate legislation regarding convertible virtual currencies, which ultimately resulted in their inclusion within the Designated Business (Registration and Oversight) Act 2015. In 2015, the MDCA merged with the Manx Information and Communications Technology Association (MICTA). He holds a degree in Law (LLB (Hons)) and a Masters degree (LLM) in Computer and Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary University, London. He has studied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Law and assists with research in machine learning. He is a qualified Trust & Estate Practitioner (non-practicing), a qualified Data Protection Practitioner (DP.TP) and also a member of the Isle of Man Copyright Tribunal. He has an interest in space commerce having attended the International Space University in Strasbourg.

Rachel Jepson-Bennett

Rachel is a qualified Solicitor of England & Wales and a Registered Legal Practitioner in the Isle of Man. She is also a qualified Manx Advocate. Since qualifying over 10 years ago, Rachel has spent time with a number of well-respected Manx law firms, where she has gained experience in trust and private client matters. Her recent practice has principally focused on private client law in the Isle of Man, including the protection of digital assets from an estate perspective. In 2010, prior to being admitted as a Manx Advocate, Rachel won the Isle of Man law society's prestigeous George Johnson essay prize. Rachel first became interested in technology law in 2014. She furthered her interest by undertaking studies in Fintech & Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Rachel holds a degree in Law (LLB (Hons)) from The University of Hull, England. She completed the Legal Practice Course with the College of Law in York, England. Rachel is currently a Non-Executive Director at Kosnahan Law and is not involved in the day to day practice.
