I joined Zionext in July 2020, I feel that the company is a place where everyone is encouraged to contribute to my success. I can ask questions, give suggestions and we advocate teamwork. I have a stake in team decisions which cultivated a sense of belonging and motivated me to contribute more to the team and our projects.
When I first joined, I came in with the knowledge of simply what I know. In just a short period of time, I can say my knowledge has at least quadrupled. All these knowledges were acquired from the exposure to different projects and for me being hungry for knowledge. This is what keeps me excited at work, knowing that I'm not just doing a job, but also learning every day. It really is a whole different positive experience compared to what I had experienced working in other companies before.
Technology is something I enjoyed working with and the knowledge that I'm always eager to seek, this actually paid off with the recognition of the efforts I put in. The company recognise my effort and I was given more opportunities to take on more challenging tasks such as leading a technical team of my own, training, and mentoring developers. I am learning now how to lead and share my experiences with my team mate, learning and growing together as a team.
At Zionext, you are recognized by the efforts you put in, not by what certificates you have, or by seniority. Personally, for me, I don't have an O Level certificate and am also a secondary school dropout, but because my talents and efforts has been recognised, I was promoted in just a year with the company, and this really pushes me on to strive even further and much more. Additionally, this is not just a job that works on the same tasks forever, but one is given the exposure to different tech stacks and new systems.
