Dr. Daniel Tompkins has a lifelong interest for helping plants grow and provide food through the understanding and practice of plant science, agricultural systems, and environmental concerns through a diverse 20+ year career.
With a passion for forest conservation as well, he founded and is leading an xprize rainforest team into semifinals. He has contributed to the field of plant disease diagnostic labs and advanced crop consulting services for fruit and vegetable growers. Daniel has in-depth experience with lab and field operations and is knowledgeable in a diversity of cropping systems- organic, conventional, open field and greenhouse hydroponics within the USA and internationally.
His space research is focused on how to use resources of space at an expanding rate to sustain life in regards to mass balance and embodied energy.
Dr. Graham Lau is an astrobiologist and communicator of science. With an academic background spanning biology, chemistry, astrophysics, and geology, Dr. Lau is an expert on how living things affect the environment around them and how we search for alien life beyond the Earth. He's also an experienced communicator, with professional speaking engagements toa wide variety of audiences as well as the use of graphic design to convey scientific ideas. Dr. Lau is also known internationally as the Host of the NASA Astrobiology Program's show "Ask an Astrobiologist".
