Despite her love for being a part of the morning team at WCHB, Jackson wanted to pursue her career in TV news. In 1996, her infectious personality was recognized by Fox 2 News in Detroit. They invited her to join the morning news team as the in-studio traffic anchor. After six short months at Fox 2 the team at Detroit's WXYZ Channel 7 stole her away identifying her talent and wanting to top their competitor. Thus began Jackson's in-demand TV career as stations around the country vied for her contract. The next stop on Jackson's journey was as morning traffic anchor at WFMY News 2 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
